2nd week of school and just started to getting used to the new timetable. So, while I was in NKM class on that day, I was checking the school portal for any new announcements and guess what? The newest announcement posted was as below:

There will be a briefing (see details as below) for a study trip to Silicon Valley.

It's been around two and a half years since I had been studying in this school. Sad to say, I haven't heard of our any study trips for our particular course yet. Some of the other courses have study trips to Japan or France and I am so envious of them. Of course, my eyes immediately zoomed into the keyword "Study Trip" and exclaimed to my friend who was sitting besides me at that time, about "Where on earth is Silicon Valley". Of course, a quick Google search solved that problem. Soon after that, I was totally spazzing with my friend about the study trip...to Silicon Valley! In San Francisco,California! United States of America! Which is literally the other half of the globe!

As you can imagine, my friend and I didn't pay much attention to the class for the rest of the day. It felt like a seriously long wait to the briefing even though it was only a week plus of wait. We kept guessing what we would be doing there.

My friend and I had never went to such a far away country before so you can't exactly blame us for being so excited. Besides that, the only two times which I had been out of the country was:

1)Malaysia - Went for less than a day to visit relatives and also went to Giant. Not exactly exciting since besides their houses and Giant, we didn't go sightseeing and there's Giant in Singapore as well. At least it got me my 1st stamp in my passport though.

2)New Zealand - A study trip with my secondary school in 2007 and it was fabulous. New Zealand was really beautiful and it was an eye opener for a city kid like me. I had totally enjoyed myself there. Plus, the original cost was $3000+ and after subsidies, I only have to pay $1000+ for a 2 weeks stay there and we flew with Singapore Airlines. Totally worth every single penny of mine even if it did take out a huge chunk of money from my bank account.

Yeah. So I was practically researching about San Francisco whenever I am free while painfully waiting for each day to pass. I couldn't stop guessing with my friend about when the study trip will be held etc. We just can't wait for the details!

It's finally here! The big day of the briefing where they will finally reveal the details! I kept staring at the short announcement in the school portal hoping that they will update more details but now, I don't have to anymore!

Our request for the OOAD class to be pushed up went through so we didn't have to wait for 3 hours for the next class anymore. OOAD class ended early and my friend and I were using the computers to pass time till 4.30pm. One of our classmate left the moment the OOAD class ended. I was rather surprised to see that especially since that particular classmate has shown interest in the study trip. I shrugged it off thinking that perhaps that classmate wasn't as interested in the study trip as I thought she was.

My friend was busy helping one of the freshmen with his work so we were around 5 minutes late when we got into the lecture theatre. Thankfully, the teacher who was presenting had not started the briefing yet. I can't bear to miss out any details about this study trip! On a side note, it was freaking cold in the lecture theatre though.

After another 5 minutes of wait, the teacher went on with the briefing with the help of the PowerPoint slides as well as the Word document. Details were rather brief as they are trying to see how many are interested in this study trip before they finalize everything.

From this briefing, I had learned that:

1) They are hoping to go during June 2011. My school holidays during June will be from 11 - 26 June 2011 so I am guessing that it will be during that time.
2) It's a 8 to 10 days trip. Actual duration of the trip has not been set yet.
3) We will be touring some of the IT companies in Silicon Valley. Some of the companies includes Google and Apple.
4) We will be touring some of the universities there.
5) Of course we will be doing the usual sightseeing and shopping as well!
6) They will arrange for us to do job interviews so we might have a chance to do our internships with the companies there!
7) Total cost of the trip will be S$4200 inclusive of air tickets, taxes, hotel, tour guide, tour buses etc. Of course, it does not includes all our personal shopping expenses, room service, laundry etc.
8) We need to confirm by 20 January 2011.
9) There's no subsidies provided by the school. *WHY?!*
10) Difference of sharing a room with 3 and 4 person is just S$20. =.=^^^

[Today]
Turns up, my classmate got the date for the briefing wrong and that's why she left the moment class ended. She and her another friend are both interested and they had along already confirmed her place for this study trip along with me and my friend. I kept checking my inbox everyday hoping that there's more details about the study trip.

I need more details!

Hopefully they will be able to reveal the full details by mid February. I wonder if they will call for another briefing again or just email us the details though?

Since we are most probably to be going there during June, I was rather worried since it's during the summer and that means just flying from one hot country to another. However, to my delight, I was incredibly happy to find that even during summer, it's very rare to have the temperatures in San Francisco to rise higher than 21°C and during the evening to night, fog might roll in and the temperatures will drop to around 12°C. That's very cooling and might be even cold for me coming from a country with average temperatures around 31°C all year round!

However, before I even dream about flying there, raising S$4200 is going to be no chicken feet as well since I am from a dysfunctional family and I can only rely on myself. I still have some savings left in my bank but I am hoping that I will not have to touch that amount of money. It seems to be rather hard though as if I don't use that sum of money, chances of me being able to go to this study trip will be virtually impossible.

I had started working in the hotel with another friend as a waitress yesterday. It was not easy as there's no training provided and I had to actually kept relying on the rest of the staff for help. Plus, I had not been exercising for some time now so my arms are rather weak and all that carrying of heavy big porcelain plates/bowls along with glass glasses is rather tiring. Plus, anyone who knows me knows how much I hate going out and coming home late. The pay is rather low for all the work we have to do as well. Not much choice though. This is the only job I am able to find under such a short notice and what's more, it provides me the flexibility of being able to work on which day I want. I am able to receive my pay the moment I had finished my work for the day as well. I am hoping to find another job during my school holidays with higher pay. I am planning to work on all days except for during Sundays when I have my Japanese classes. I want to be able to have some shopping money as well. >.<

I was speaking to my mother today about a plan of mine...it's going to be rather hard to pull off but I am determined to do so! I am planning to hide the fact that I am going on this study trip from HRATH! Meaning that HRATH wouldn't even know until perhaps HRATH ask:

A) Why I am not at home
B) Why there's no need to buy my dinner

ETC.

Of course, by then, I would be already at the airport, checking in or already on the plane flying to Silicon Valley...but no matter what, I wouldn't be there where HRATH is able to find me! It's not going to be easy to pull off. HRATH is always taking MC and whatnot. HRATH has a high tendency of being at home or coming home unexpectedly. This means that even when I am packing or bringing home my study trip related purchases such as suitcase, coat etc., I have to be extra careful to do so when HRATH is not at home and be ready to hide them. Plus, Mum and brother has to cooperate with me as well, by simply not mentioning any single thing about the trip at all when HRATH is at home. Not a single peep. It's sounds like hard work isn't it? Seriously speaking though, the reason why I am going through all these, is because, believe me, HRATH's wrath is even worse. Seriously, I cannot, I repeat, I absolutely cannot stand listening to HRATH's questioning and nagging. HRATH really has stupid questions. My days would be ruin. I will be in a bad temper all day because I know HRATH will find any opportunity to pretend like the know-it-all. If I succeed with this plan and I know I will, I am able to avoid all that annoying situations altogether. Sounds like heaven!

Sigh. Guess that's all for today. Please dear teachers reveal more details soon! I can't wait!

BoA's Best Live Performance in 2010: MBC Gayo Daejun

First of all, Happy New Year everyone!

I didn't managed to catch the live broadcast of MBC Gayo Daejun yesterday, 31st December 2010.

As per usual, I went around searching for videos of her performance. She did not attend the KBS Gayo Daejun which was a day before MBC Gayo Daejun and rumors were flying around as to why that was so. Lots of us guessed that perhaps it's due to BoA having some super cool performance on MBC Gayo Daejun 2010 so she needs the rest and extra time to practice.

Whatever the reason was, BoA didn't disappoint!

As usual, BoA was placed as the last performer.

Before BoA performed though, some of the fellow SM Juniors performed their own tributes. These performances includes all the hit tracks from the Korean albums during year 2000 to 2004 BoA has released.

I got to applaud them though to me, BoA's performance is still better. ^0^

Now, fans were left wondering who will perform 'Girls On Top' (2005) only to see BoA herself performing it! After a change of outfit, BoA continued to performed 'COPY & PASTE' and 'Hurricane Venus'. Both 'COPY & PASTE' and 'Hurricane Venus' are remixed with additional dance break versions. BoA was totally fierce and confident while balancing singing and dancing, hitting hard moves and high notes with no problems at all. This is certainly her best live performance of year 2010! What great way to end the year! Check out her performance below! I can't stop replaying it!

2011 brings much things to anticipate for. 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of BoA's debut in Japan as the year when BoA will fly to U.S to film her Hollywood dance movie! I can't wait for the movie to come out!

I am always excited about weekend as it means a time to relax and sleep in! Weekends are certainly the best days of the week when I am buried in school related stuff.

Seems like BoA is excited about weekends as well as her new Japanese single is named WOO WEEKEND! The PV teaser for WOO WEEKEND is finally released and it does sounds very cheerful and cute! WOO WEEKEND is also a song for 25th Anniversary of Disney on Ice in Japan.

There isn't any previews for the B-Side, NO DANCE, NO LIFE so far. I am rather curious how the song would be like, considering that it has such an awesome title, it better be good!

WOO WEEKEND will be released on July 21st, 2010. BoA will be facing tough competition since July is the month which famous singers like Koda Kumi, Ayumi Hamasaki and Namie Amuro are releasing their stuff as well. Hopefully with the Disney family behind BoA's back, her single, WOO WEEKEND will sell will in Japan!

Gals Day: Popteen Natural Look

I had actually wanted to hold Gals Day with Samantha during the long vacation I had during the March to April period. However, I had finalized the idea way too late so with those annoying restrictions at home, I didn't have enough time to finish Operation Clean Up (OCU). Alas, I had no choice but to push back Gals Day to the short two week break during June. Samantha was rather understanding when I told her.

It's June now and unfortunately, HRA is going to be at home most of the time during my two week break so I'll just have to make do with performing OCU on the area where we will get started with Gals Day. It's mostly makeover and girlish stuff like that.

Hopefully I will be able to finish the stuff I want to do!

Anyway, here's the look I am thinking of doing.

P.S I am currently considering of getting a curly/wavy hair wig!

BoA Shanghai Expo Performance + BoA's USA Songs

As some of you know, BoA has performed at Shanghai Expo on May 30th 2010, along with Super Junior, Kang Ta, and f(x) to represent South Korea during the Korean Music Festival.

I was actually kind of hoping that BoA would be performing at least one new Korean song since her Korea comeback is rumored to be on 25th August 2010, which happens to be the 10th anniversary of her career since her debut in Korea, 10 years ago. It's amazing how time flies and how much BoA has achieved, considering that BoA is only 23 years old. o(^^o)(o^^)o Anyway, BoA didn't perform a new Korean song but performed three English songs, Eat You Up, Energetic and Look Who's Talking, from BoA's self entitled USA debut album. Both Eat You Up and Energetic are singles from her USA album. To me, it's a little weird that she performed English songs in a Korean Music Festival, but oh well, since she had already done it before when she was back in Korea... ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ)...I aren't complaining anyway, since at least I can understand what she is singing!

Alright! Enough talking. Let's watch her performance in Shanghai Expo! All these videos are not taken by me! As they are fancams, the quality is not great but these are relatively stable and clear as compared to some other fancams. I hope that they will broadcast her performance on TV so that HD video uploads can be guaranteed!

I am interested to learn how to dance this dance but I don't have a foundation in dancing. I should really stop thinking about how to run before I know how to walk.

Lastly, it's Look Who's Talking by BoA. She didn't released a single for this so there's no MV. She has performed this song for couple times so who knows, this might be the next single. Then again, the promotional team better do something big for what's the point of releasing album and singles if you don't promote it well?! People wouldn't even buy it or listen to it if they don't even know it exist! Anyway, since there isn't a MV for it, I had found a video showing BoA rehearsing the dance for Look Who's Talking. It's pretty cool too.

However, that's not all. I am not sure why but her 2nd single, I Did It For Love feat. Sean Garrett, doesn't seem to be really popular. Hmm~ ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ)... I think that her MV for I Did It For Love is pretty cool. It's not easy to dance either. At least it looks complicated to me. if you are wondering who on earth Sean Garrett is, well, he is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer. He seemed to more of the behind the scene guy in the music industry. You can read more about him in Wikipedia.

This is the end of my short video report of BoA's performance in Shanghai!

You know, I had heard that some of the kids/teens (those around 12 years old to around fifteen years old) who listen to the very auto-tuned K-Pop that's very popular right now, have no idea who BoA is. That's kind of sad since well, BoA is like the diva in the music industry in Korea! Never mind, I am anticipating her comeback which should be around during August time this year. I hope that she will surpass herself and rock the Korea music industry! Show them what she got!

What a bad luck isn't it? However, in my opinion, lugging the laptop to school to be able to catch the presentation/read press release totally is worth it!

Mini Keitai Gathering @ Marina Square Starbucks

Note: Keitai (けいたい) is short for keitai denwa (けいたいでんわ/携帯電話) which means mobile phones in Japanese. In this context, I am referring to Japanese mobile phones in this post and not mobile phones that are sold in Singapore.

This is one of the most impromptu gatherings I had ever seen. It was actually organized one day before the actual day itself. Imagine that. If I didn't go online the day before on February 19, 2010, I would actually missed the actual gathering yesterday that is on February 20, 2010!

I was bubbling with excitement when I know about this gathering. Finally! A chance to get my hands on the keitai itself instead of looking enviously at the pictures online!

I wasted no time in contacting Jaslyn to see if she was interested. After all, she was the one who fell in love with SH-05A which was unfortunately, a 3G only keitai that at this moment, could not be unlocked for usage locally. Not to be deterred, her heart went for SH-06A. However, with the release of the latest Winter 2009/Spring 2010, SH-01B caught her attention as well. I can tell that she is having second thoughts about getting a keitai or just save up for her trip Korea. This keitai gathering would be a good chance for her clear her thoughts, get hands on, as well as getting advice from the experienced keitai users. Plus, after the interaction with the other keitai users, if she decides to get a keitai, she can also take this opportunity to choose between SH-06A and SH-01B.

In my opinion, getting SH-01B would be more worth the money since SH-01B is the successor of SH-06A. The quote below shows the write up on SH-01B and why SH-01B is better than SH-06A. This is written by Aaron.

I was wondering why Jaslyn didn't express much interest in this gathering initially but it turns up that she thought that I was not going. DUH. How could I miss such a good chance to get some hands on and opinions? I had wanted to ask Kristy and Samantha along too but both of them were busy. What a pity. Especially for Samantha since I didn't have the chance to expose her to the little keitai knowledge I had like I had done with Jaslyn.

I made plans with Jaslyn to meet her at the City Hall MRT Station since the gathering was at the Starbucks of Marina Square.

I was lucky that I wasn't late as I had managed to catch the train. In fact, I was early by couple minutes. I was waiting for Jaslyn while Umme, who was on her way to her religious class, spotted me. Too bad Jaslyn arrived a little later or we could have a mini gathering. Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ

Jaslyn and I arrived at the location but didn't spotted anyone there yet. Turns up the two organizers were late. I was hungry so I had gotten a Blueberry Muffin and shared a Dark Mocca Coffee with Jaslyn. It was really interesting and cool to see so many keitai in one location. A plus that I get to use it! Keitai keypads in my opinion, are definitely much better than my Sony Ericsson W595. They are kinder on fingers and less stiff. The bigger keypad size helps too. When asked about the durability about keitai, all the users vouched that it is definitely much more durable than local phones. In fact, some had used it for 5 years plus with several drops on the floor and it is still going strong. One of the user must be really rich for he owned at least 8 sets of keitai and who knows? He might have more at home.

I went to eat dinner with Jaslyn at KFC and went home after that. What a day. It was worth the time going down for I managed to pop a few questions which Jaslyn was afraid to ask. Jaslyn stayed true to her word of going there to get hands on only and will not stay anything. It was as if she didn't understand English/Japanese and I was her translator between them. Hoho! However, it was interesting to be with them as I had learned a couple more things about keitai. I will definitely go to the next gathering and hopefully, I will have my own keitai by then!

First post in year 2010

Yes, I know...I couldn't believe that it took me till February 7 before I am finally writing my first post of the year. In my defense, I had to say that I had been busy with school and that's the truth. Project submissions deadlines, tests, presentations bombarded me senselessly. It is amazing that I am still alive. I have been pretty much not getting enough sleep for the past several weeks. Many of the nights were spent rushing through my projects to meet the deadlines. I can't say that I have enjoyed my past one month plus. In fact, the last month was utter hell, something which I hope that I would never have to go through again. Unfortunately, life doesn't work like that.

Still, I am happy that things has started to slow down for last week. Most of my stuff have already been submitted so I was able to start reading the novels that were due soon. How I wish that I am able to relax all day, not needing care about school and yet, get paid to do so!

I have to enjoy while it last for I have two OOPG test next week. One OOPG lab test tomorrow (February 8, 2010) and the other OOPG written test, on the Friday (February 12, 2010). Even though I have the OOPG test tomorrow, I don't feel like studying for it at all. In fact, I haven't even look through the materials. A bunch of jumbled materials that doesn't really makes sense to me. Why oh why? As I ask myself again. Why on earth did I even put this course into my list of choice when I am not even sure of what it is in the first place. If only all I have to do was HCI. That was something, at the very least, I had enjoyed it pretty much. From what I see now though, that aren't happening any soon. I seemed to be making mistakes through my whole life. No matter big and small, they are all the choices I had made. Some which I had made even when I had given much considerable thought, and some which I had made due to me not wanting to think about it anymore. I always regret later. I always do. I seem to be doing a lot of regretting as well...*Frets*

*Sigh* back to the topic...so, after the two OOPG tests, I have to prepare for my CMSK presentaion on Thursday (February 11, 2010). I don't really mind much about that presentation since talking about my report doesn't seemed to be too hard, though I have to be mindful of the 3 minute time restriction. Sometimes I talk too much.

With that, the study week begins which unfortunately, clashes with Chinese New year. It has not doubt, dampers my spirits for Chinese new year and in fact, I have already decided not to visit my relatives this year in favor of studying. Aren't I a good girl? of course, the usual reunion dinner at my grandparents' house will still be carried out as per normal. At least it means that I will still be able to get some red packets! Hoho. $.$

Examinations will begin after the study week. Although I only have three papers, they are spread out so my last paper will be on a Thursday. I hope that I will NOT make some silly mistakes like remembering the wrong time or venue for the paper again. Once is definitely enough for me. I can't wait for the holidays that comes after examinations!

My room certainly needs a good dusting and throwing. I had procrastinated my time away last holiday and I am not going to do it again. After all, I do need more places to keep my textbooks and novels! Plus, my poor deck of tarot cards is buried under so many copies of Seventeen and Popteen. Besides that, my mum has been nagging me to get started on the cleaning too. I will never get her to stop nagging if I don't do it. Plans must be made and actions must be carried out! No more procrastinating!

Anyway, I have been toying with the idea of having a Chinese blog for a long time. By that, I mean that the blog post will be fully written in Chinese text. There are times when I find myself being able to express myself better in Chinese so I will update the blog as and when I like it, just like my current blog which you are reading. However, I don't think that I will be doing double posting, such as translating my English blog post into Chinese and vice versa. I don't think that I will be choosing Blogger as my Chinese blog host so I am currently look at three different blog host. They are namely, 新浪博客(Sina Blog), 痞客邦(PIXNET), and 无名小站(Wretch). Could anyone tell me which blog host is better and why? Thanks~

Avatar Movie Outing with Samantha

Do you remember my previous post on Monday, December 21, 2009 about me wanting to watch Avatar here? Well, I finally did it on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 with Samantha.

It was, in fact, a spontaneous decision to do so. I only had one 2 hour long DCNK lab on that day, which was supposed to be from 11am to 1pm. However, the lesson ended at 12pm, which left me with a lot free time on that day. My friends were all discussing which movie they wanted to watch. It seems that they were rather interested in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. No offenses but while they were attracted by cuteness of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, cute just doesn't does it for me enough to spend money and watch a movie. After all most of the movie critics are crap and I believe that there must have a reason to do so.

I had contacted most of the my friends but it's either they were not interested in watching the movie or they had already watched it. My, they are sure fast. After all I only ask them after 3 days of opening. Besides that, as mentioned in my previous post here, I was pondering I should watch it in 3D or not.

Luckily for me, I remembered that I had recently reconnected with a friend and she was interested to have some shopping trip or something similar together. I decided to ask her if she's interested to watch the Avatar movie together though I know that it's a super last minute arrangement and she might not be free.

Luckily, she was and with her help on booking the tickets, we managed to grab a decent seat in Vivo City Golden Village at 4.50pm. She was late for a little while but luckily while waiting for her, I had fun window shopping in Forever 21 and Fox.

When we got the tickets, Samantha decided that she needs a bottle of water so we were complementing if we have enough time left to do so. At first, we thought that the Vivo Mart was the other side of Vivo City. Luckily for us, it was only downstairs so we make it back in time.

Although the seat was not really close to the screen, to me however, it was an awkward position for me as it forces my head to be tilted in a weird position in order to see the whole screen clearly. I got dizzy half way through the movie and started to feel nauseous. Luckily I didn't watch it in 3D or I will surely puke for sure. I gradually got used to the weird feeling and lasted through the whole movie without puking. Thank goodness. I didn't want to make a scene. I have to say though, though the fighting scene isn't as much as Transformers and such movies, the volume was deafening. Other than feeling nauseous and the deafening sound, it was rather pleasant overall. The movie is indeed a 4/5stars.

When the movie ended, we got out of the theater, we were shocked to see that it's already 7.40pm. The movie end later than we thought. We then took the public transport home.

I suppose that none of you needs any introducing to this new movie which is already out there in the wild. If you have no idea what Avatar is, you seriously need to get out of your cave and start living among the civilization. However, I shall cover brief introduction of Avatar to those who have heard of it but aren't too sure as of what it is.

As quoted from Wikipedia.

The film focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus, one of three fictional gas giants orbiting Alpha Centauri A. On Pandora, human colonists and the sentient humanoid indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the Na'vi, engage in a war over the planet's resources and the latter's continued existence. The film's title refers to the remotely controlled, genetically engineered human-Na'vi bodies used by the film's human characters to interact with the natives.

Avatar had been in development since 1994 by Cameron, who wrote a 114-page scriptment for the film. Filming was supposed to take place after the completion of Titanic, and the film would have been released in 1999, but according to Cameron, "technology needed to catch up" with his vision of the film. In early 2006, Cameron developed the script, the language, and the culture of Pandora.

Avatar was directed by James Cameron or the guy who directed the Titanic movie. You know, the movie with the famous "You jump, I jump..." line? I am sure you had heard of the movie considering I had never watched the movie before and yet it's a considerable feat that I can quote from the movie.

Avatar has caused quite a ruckus out there considering the number of nominations under its belt. Hey, after all the it aren't everyday you see a movie that was in development for around 12 years before being released. I am sure the graphics, storyline etc helps as well.

To tell you the truth, I didn't took much notice of Avatar when it was released. It seems like another science fiction movie to me. Although I am quite a fan of science fiction movies, I couldn't quite grasp what's the deal with this movie. It doesn't really pull me in when I saw the trailer. I guess that I am a sucker for those big action stuff. The few comments about Na'vi looking like Smurfs didn't help either. However, I grew more interested when the local Chinese newspaper, 《联合早报》(lian he zao bao), gave a review of 4.5/5 stars, local Chinese magazine, I-Weekly giving a 4/5stars review and with reviewers both agreeing that it's a must watch in 3D. It aren't common to see a 4.5/5 stars review on that newspaper and what's more, with a 83% certified fresh review on Rotten Tomatoes, that got me thinking that there got to be something about it to get people giving raving reviews about it.

Alright. I am curious. The trailer for Avatar movie seen on my computer screen monitor certainly help though.

And then, I listened to the official theme song for Avatar, I See You, sang by Leona Lewis. It reminds me of the song My Heart Will Go On sang by Céline Dion. Coincidentally, My Heart Will Go On was also the theme song for the movie, Titanic directed by the same director as Avatar as I have mentioned before. It wasn't the song I expected to be. I expected more rock(?) kind of song...after all those movies I was used to always had that kind of song. So this song was more refreshing to listen and certainly more beautiful.

This is when my real dilemma comes in. I had been stingy with myself recently for I am saving up for keitai denwa and also, to replace the void I had left in my bank account when I embarked my shopping frenzy last October. I kept complementing if I should just get the DVD when it comes out and watch it on my black box or treat myself to a visit to a cinema to watch it. Of course I know that there's no way, no freaking way that watching it on the black box is going to replace the "WOW!" sensation from watching it in cinema with the big screen and surround sound.

And...say, if I want to watch it in the cinemas, should I watch it in 3D? I read that it would be quite a waste to NOT watch it in 3D but I have a weak stomach and get dizzy easily. Any comments? Oh! And does it cost more to watch in 3D?

Also, if I want to watch it in the cinemas, I am planning to watch it during 22 December 2009-25 December 2009 since my school holidays ends on 27 December 2009 and watching it during weekends are expensive...anyone wants to watch it with me???

Well, my friends and I were bored while waiting for the teacher to come for CMATHS tutorial and we came up with our own version of Momo Love. Look at the picture below for reference! Japanese Student Exchange Program on 6 Oct 09

It was rather by chance that I was involved in this Japanese Student Exchange program. It was one random day when I received an instant message from Aiman, saying something about if I wanted to be involved with the Japanese Student Exchange Program. Anybody who knew me well enough will know that for sure, my answer is a big big YES!

Thus, I contacted my Care Person to know more about it and also to inform her that I wish to take part in this. It took some time for the details to be release but everything looks promising. Though, I have to comment on the fact that the organizing team seems to be rather inexperienced in dealing with tasks like these. The organizer our Care Person directed us to gave us the details while another person smsed us and gave us different details. Such confusion. This was of course quickly solved after a quick sms to the organizer. The organizer in question was not very detailed with his instructions as well. We don't even know that we had to get them a gift until a little less than a week to go. Plus, details like which school they are from, what age they are, what we will be doing were not stated as well. They really should improve on that. All I know of is that they are going to visit my school and they will be interviewing us on our life in school and stuff like that for their assignment.

With around 2 days to go before the exchange program, I had already bought my gift for them, brushed up a little on my Japanese(though it's still crappy), and I am left with more brushing up on my Japanese(just in case we have problem communicating with one another), plus wrapping of the gift. There are still other little miscellaneous stuff I have to do but I shan't mention them here or I will be boring you.

So...I applied Estée Lauder 305 Crystal Opaline to my left hand on 5 September 2009. I was too lazy to get it removed while it's growing out but with my right looking like a nail polish disaster zone, I finally got out my nail polish remover and attacked my nails.

+J Collection by Jill Sander for UNIQLO

As most of the fashionistas out there know, renown German fashion designer, Jil Sander, recently paired up with UNIQLO for her line, +J, under UNIQLO. From the pictures that have been circulating online, Jil Sander stayed true to her usual minimalist design for this line. Thus, if you are a fan of her designs, +J certainly wouldn't disappoint you. However, for those who like loud, individual and unique styles, +J aren't for you.

Fans of Jil Sander flocked to UNIQLO store in UK and queued anxiously, while waiting for the store to open as seen in the picture below. Looks like UNIQLO stores in Singapore aren't the only outlet where they receive queues before opening. And I thought that it was our "kiasu" attitude at work.

I went to collect my spectacles($188) upon receiving a call from the shop that it's ready for collection. After much pondering, I finally bought the long wallet which I was eying since last Friday from The Wallet Shop.

I had been wanting to get a new wallet since my old one couldn't contain all the cards I have. It wasn't an easy decision considering that the one which caught my eye costs $119. I had initially set my heart on the $109 long wallet from the same series. However, as the salesperson pointed out, the $109 one didn't have a expandable bottom. That would meant that it wasn't able to contain as much things as the $119. However, the $109 one had a nicer interior design with it's choice of pink x black for slots while the $119 interior design is all in pink.

In the end I choose the $119 wallet for practicability. Thankfully, The Wallet Shop was having some kind of promotion such that with each $45 of the whole item cost, you will receive a $5 discount. As my wallet costs $119, I was eligible for a discount of $10, which reduce the price to $109.

I suppose certain people will be OMG-ing by this point of time at the price of the wallet but it's real leather...so yeah.

The trip to Vivo City was a rather hasty planned one. Since Izzati didn't have any concrete plans to visit Vivo City, I got tired of waiting and decided to visit Vivo City the next day, 24 September 2009.

Prior to my friends' request, I contacted three of them. Only two of three replied that they will be able to make it but that's acceptable considering I had contacted them less than a day before. I tried contacting the third but she gave no confirmed reply. It was a day later after our outing that I found out that her phone was dead when I tried to contact her. Due to some personal reasons she couldn't make it anyway. It's a pity but somehow I couldn't manage to get an outing with the whole gang together. What a pity. I hope that we will be able to have a get-together sometime during the holidays.

I didn't know who was the one started going about wanting to chipped in and get Jaslyn a belated birthday present, though I think that it was Izzati/Aiman, but somehow Aiman managed to get most of the people who were online via MSN to chipped in for Jaslyn's birthday present. The people are as follows: Aiman, Izzati, Michelle, Bevin, Edmund, Wee Seng, Qian Hao, Zhan Jie, Christina and me. Perhaps there are others who wanted to chip in as well but we could only make most of those people who are online at that time. So there. A quick discussion still render us unsure on what to get for Jaslyn.

In the end, my suggestion for last minute trip turned into a gift buying trip as well. Like I said before, it was rather last minute planning so in the end, only Aiman, Say Yin and I could make it. We arranged to meet each other in the morning so that we were able to have sufficient time for gift buying before meeting Jaslyn in the afternoon.

Thursday, 24 September 2009
After some shopping around, we got Jaslyn a Forever 21 Jacket, an Esprit Studded Tank Top and an Esprit red wallet(not pictured). The picture below was ripped from Jaslyn's blog.

After meeting Jaslyn and lunch at Banquet, we then gave her her present with the tags still on. We had no choice but to do so as if the tags were removed and if the clothes doesn't fit her, we wouldn't be able to exchange it. We sent her off to try the stuff in the toilet. Luckily for us, everything were in the right size. I had nearly blew the surprise with the remark about "not seeing the shop River Island just now". I was thankful that she didn't really gave too much thought on it.

Hours of walking around in Vivo City as we went from one shop to another according to my mighty list, we were left tired and mostly spent. It feels kind of weird that I was the only one who was doing the shopping while the others just stood there, chatting around. I admit that I was kind of self conscious about that.

I had seen some really nice clothes in Mango but they were way too expensive for me to afford it. In my opinion, the only two shops that seemed to be worth going on that day was Daiso (for the prices are kind on wallets), and Forever 21. The Forever 21 outlet in Vivo City was even bigger than the outlet at Wisma Atria and that means that they were more stocked up on different styles of clothes and accessories. I bought two different stacks of bracelets from Forever 21 which costs $10 and $13 respectively. The stack of bracelets were more affordable than those sold in Chamelon for they were in a nicer design and having more bracelets in one stack as well. The trip to River Island left me quite disappointed as they didn't stock as much boots as I had seen from their online shop. I did see a pair of nice brown wedge but it was a tad too high for my taste. I wanted some height but not too high that my feet will be aching after a few minutes of wear like it did with my 9.5cm high Lolita wedges.

I made a rather abrupt decision to visit Orchard Road for the shops that was listed as having Dr. Martens boots didn't have the design I wanted. Surprisingly, they agreed on my plan as well. We took a bus to Orchard Road prior to Say Yin's request who had a bus concession pass and did not wanted to waste money taking the MRT.

My first stop in Orchard was none other than ION. Before reaching ION though, we passed by the ETUDE House outlet and a man was shouting in Korean. I didn't understand a word of it but it looks like that if we were to enter the store, we will be given a free face mask. How can I give up the chance to obtain freebies? I got a O2 White Mask Sheet for free and bought a bottle of Dear Darling Nails No.24 Star Shine which cost $7.50. The tester colour looks nice in the store incredibly bright lights but the colour looks different outdoors. Oh well...

I headed for UNIQLO the moment I stepped into ION. I wanted to see if they had stocked up in their NeoLeather series Jackets as well as the denim Leggings, both which I was interested in getting. Unfortunately, they still didn't have the ones I wanted. I hope that they will stock up soon.

After much protests by Jaslyn, who already had blisters by then *poor her*, we decided to walk to Orchard Central which was at Somerset. I didn't want to waste any more time on shops that claimed to sell Dr. Martens boots so we visit the official Dr. Martens first ever flagship store in Singapore at Orchard Central instead. Say Yin and Jaslyn were tired so they were walking tad too slow for my taste. Aiman and I decided to put our super speed walking into good use and reached Orchard Central far ahead before them. I decided to make good use of this time to get to the store and try on the pair I saw in Seventeen Singapore September 2009.

The moment I stepped into the store and did a quick swept of the layout, I finally spotted the pair of boots I wanted on display. Dr. Martens Phoenix Jara from the Autumn 2008 Collection. Could you imagine my excitement? After weeks and weeks of pounding the streets, visiting countless shops that don't stock it, I had finally found it! Of course, it also comes with a very nice price, $229, but considering that it's made of quality real Leather and it's trademark Bouncing Soles, it's worth the money. I am always looking for something that will last years like my mother's Scholl shoes which lasted 5years and still going strong.

I tried on that pair in my usual US size 6 but found out that I couldn't even put my feet in. In the end I had to switched it to US size 7. I could fit my feet in but while walking it feels a little weird. As if my feet is about to fall out. When I raised my concerns, the salesperson was quick to assure me that most of first timers who wore that felt that way and that it's perfectly normal. Without further ado, I paid for the pair of boots. By the time Say Yin and Jaslyn arrived, I was already paying for it.

After that, we walked to Dhouby Ghaut and went to KFC for dinner. However, the seating area was tad tacky and a little dirty so voted for Burger King instead. We ate and chatted until 10pm before leaving for home. It was fun sitting there, chatting while discovering another side of Say Yin. *Which I shall not mention it here or else I will get killed. （￣～￣;）・・・*

On the way home, I was quite worried about purchasing the wrong size for my Dr. Martens Phoenix Jara but as I tried it on at home, it fits perfectly and was incredibly comfortable. Thank goodness.

With that, this pretty much sums up my shopping trip on Thursday, 24 September 2009.

Plus, if I keep on dragging it, I bet that I wouldn't get anything done when school reopens!

Teva's Women's Kiru Boot in Deep Wood

As some of you know, there was a World of Sports sale at first floor of a nearby mall during around April. The sale includes sports apparel as well as shoes from brands like Birkenstock, Teva etc. I saw the Teva's collection of boots on sale and I knew that I had to get it.

Among the many design available, I love Teva's Women's Kiru Boot in Deep Wood most. It's perfect for bohemian styles and it fits exactly the mental image of the pair of perfect boot in mind.

Alas! To my dismay, as I tried on that pair of boot, in size seven if I didn't remember wrongly, I couldn't even fit in. When I asked to tried on bigger sizes, the sales person told me that they only have it in this size for these were all samples sent by the Teva company to test the market. Unfortunately from what I had learned from the sales person, World of Sports has no plans to bring the products in and if I wish to buy, I have to ordered it online which I found out that will cost me S$300+ due to expensive shipping charges.

Plus, not to mention that I don't have a credit card... （￣～￣;）・・・

Alright, I don't think that I have posted this out before. I had found this fan-made Beautiful video using the song "Beautiful" sung by Akon Feat. BoA. The author is none other than PureDragon54 from YouTube. PureDragon54 uses the videos from BoA's Dakishimeru, Secret, I Did It for Love and Energetic plus Akon's Beautiful to get the result. Although the video is fan-made, the song Beautiful by Akon Feat. BoA is real and does exist.

Blogger is STILL wacky. I don't know what to do with it, conidering I have to type all the codes myself. ARGH. *Sigh* Enough of that.

As you guys out there know, I had openly declared being a fan of the Maximum Ride series. If you don't know what that is, clearly, you haven't been sticking around. Never mind. So, I was on YouTube, as usual, looking through the videos and I found this. A Maximum Ride Fanmade Trailer made by a Maximum Ride fan named lilmisssicecream from YouTube. It was utterly cool, fantastically made and so real and totally believable. Sure, I had already embedded another Fanmade Maximum Ride Trailer in previous blog post but although this one is longer by around a minute, it also have better gauge of climax and everything.

Hanphone network is up!

As you had know from my previous post, my handphone network was down due to not enough credit in my hi! card. I had topped the amount so I can receive calls and sms now. However, as the amount is to be last for 6 months, I would advise you to call my house number if you must since I don't take calls on my handphone as I don't have free sms/calls!

Izzati had misread my link "StayIcy" to something like "Stacy". There IS a big difference with both phrase! Why "Stay Icy"? "Stay Icy" is a quote from the book "SPECIALS", a book from my all time favourite series called "UGLIES". "Stay Icy" is a slang in the book and it means something like "Stay clear headed and be aware of your surroundings." Read the series to find out more...it's so thought provoking and yet utterly cool at the same time. =D I highly recommend it!

I am now busy with completing my part of the Computer Architecture(CARC) project which requires presentation and handing up of everything on next Tuesday, 21 July 2009! It is hard to complete as I don't even understand what a hacker needs! GAH! I have to wear Office Lady clothes on that day...I have to say that I am excited about wearing the outfit though. Hehe~ Feel like I am the boss of the whole universe(s) and ready to kick some ass whenever I wore that outfit.

On a side note, some how a particular someone just couldn't get it that we absolutely CANNOT copy and paste text from a source directly on to the project itself. Does that someone wants to cause us to lose all marks and get penalties? Come on, it's so obvious that it's a plagiarism!

My hair~ Flat with no Volume...

I had been complementing of going for a long needed rebonding session for my fringe on Friday, 4 July 2009. My mother surprised me by offering to sponsor me for a full rebond considering that my hair was getting really long, unruly and tired. Like I said before, I was surprised. I was still half awake and preparing myself for school when she just popped the question all of the sudden.

I supposed that she expected me to jump for joy the moment the question left her mouth. I was admittedly pleasantly surprised at this offer but still, I had some things I had to consider.

1) I had wanted to get a curling tong. If I rebond my hair, curling my hair would be almost impossible as the curls just wouldn't last. Plus, why straighten my hair if I was going to curl them?

2) I had done a rebond at around one and a half years ago. It left my hair really dry and I had tangles and knots whenever I run my comb/finger through my hair. Do I really want to have such dry and damaged hair again?

However, I have to admit that I was tempted. Having rebonded hair means that I just have to comb and go. Quite convenient except for having to use more conditioner and mask.

I promised her that I would give her a reply by the end of the day and left the house.

I had consulted quite a lot of people throughout the day. From classmates, to my good friend and finally, to my imouto. Among all of them, it was imouto who had managed to clear up my thoughts most. Thank you so much imouto! You know who you are! It is always fun to talk to you! You always never fail to make my day! =D

Yes people, I had done the rebond on 4 July 2009, Friday. I went into the salon at 2.20pm and walked out of it at 8pm. The whole process was longer than last time. My hair is now shorter, straighter, flatter and full of a chemical smell. You shall now be able to recognize me by my smell.

However, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that my hair was not as dry. Hopefully, the intensive treatment I had planned for my hair will keep it healthy. =D

French Manicure again~ Done by me...

After a week of hustling and bustling around I finally got the time to do my nails an chill out a little. Ever since I had seen Selene buying so many bottles of nail polish couple weeks ago, I suddenly had the urge to do my nails again. So I painted my nails using the bottles of newly polish that I had bought no long ago just for this purpose, according a design I had seen in a magazine. However, since I was doing it according to my memory and that perhaps I had gotten the wrong nail polish colour, the final outcome looks horrendous. I have to admit that having not painting my nails for at least a year now had also caused my painting skills to be rather streaky.

In the end, after consulting the advice of several friends, I had decided to wash off the scary design and to stick with Class French Manicure that's very safe. Took me around two hours to wash off everything and paint everything from base coat, tip, and top coat. Yes, I know that I am super slow in painting it. It's just that I don't want it to get smudged. However, it got smudged anyway as I rushed to school...oh well...in the end I sort of attempt to salvage what I can after the Java extra lesson while waiting for my friend. Pictures below.

If you can see some brown strands of hair, no, I didn't get dyed or have extensions or something. My natural hair have different shades from black to brown. It's all natural...^0^

Liese was having a roadshow at the Level One of Tampines Mall on 26 June 2009, Friday. If you buy a Liese product, you will be able to get a free hair makeover by the stylist there.

I bought a Liese Hair Cocktail in Light which was supposed to be able to tame my hair. Filled in some forms and after around ten minutes of waiting, finally sat on the chair where the, oh so magnificent, hair stylist shall decide which hair style suits me better.

After I had untied my hair, both the MC and the hair stylist kept going on and on how long my hair is while I was, like, "Is that so?". Maybe it's due to me being used to the length of my hair after such a long time.

After analyzing the natural waves I had and the length of my fringe, which I must get it trimmed soon, the hair stylist, Boon, decided that big curls were the way to go. I had always wanted to try out curls for Lolita and this was a really good time to do so. He used a 32mm Babyliss curling tong and curled my hair. Throughout the whole process, he gave me tons of tips on how to create the look I was going for while I took this opportunity to bombard him with tons of questions.

I was quite pleased with the final result. It was the first time I had done curls and frankly speaking, I had wanted to get curling tongs for a long time. Now that i know how to use it, I am more tempted than ever to get one. The search for a curling tong is now on...too bad I can't find Babyliss here...I think.

If you can't see the picture clearly, the curls are just something like you will see in a Japanese magazine or in Liese/Lucido-L products images. It was too bad as I had my hair re-bonded before so the curl was quite droopy when I got home.

Any recommendations for a good curling tong? Preferably 32mm curling tongs. =D

Speaking of hot tools, my friend, Adelyn, is interested to get a straightener too, Maybe we can buy hot tools together. Hoho~

A busy week ahead...and should I watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

The weeks ahead of me are certainly not a slacking/relaxing period for me. I had tons of relaxing time. After all, I had almost totally ignored all school projects during the two weeks break. What had I done during the two weeks break besides reading novels, shopping, surfing the net and watching Absolute Boyfriend? Nothing much.

Yes, go ahead, if you wish to take lessons on slacking from me, just contact me. I will tell you if I still have a class available.

If it wasn't for Makiyo asking about the Java Assignment, I wouldn't even have known that such an assignment existed.

I can't afford to slack now though. Two weeks wasted and I have got to buck up.

The projects submission dates are coming soon. I don't wish to get zero marks.

This week is officially known as Week 10.

WDS Proposal due Week 11. CARC presentation due in Week 14. Java is due in Week 12. iHCI is due in Week 16.

Horrors of horrors!

With all of the projects due date so closely packed together, there's no way that I can spare any extra time for play. Enough of play. My motivation~ My motivation for studies~ You have been missing for more than ten years~ Come back to me~!!!

My brother suggested that by focusing on a goal will help. Alright. Let's hope that it works.

I am most worried about the Java assignment though...it is the current hardest assignment I had ever encountered. I had no idea on how to start.

Goodness. Looks like I really need to buck up and pay more attention in class!

On a sidenote, after reading the review for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, in which the reporter gave it only two out of five stars, I wondered if I still wanted to watch it. The way the reporter described it, there's nothing much worth in it. Just like another typical Hollywood movie. Behind all the explosion and stuff, it's just an empty shell inside. I had actually wanted to watch it together with Adelyn this Friday but seeing that my WDS proposal is due soon, and that the review is so bad, I wondered if I still do wish to spend $6 on it. Even if I do, perhaps I might push it until next Monday, after school, after the submission of my WDS proposal. At least I can chill out a little for that 150 minutes.

Hmm....~

Scott Westerfeld has talked to the Uglies producers and it seemed that everything seems to be fine so far. I will define fine in my next-not-so-soon post. I do wish that they will make a good movie out of it. Not just another attractive Hollywood packaging with nothing inside. The story has depth in it. It has an essence in it. I hope that they will portray it well. If nicely done, according to the Uglies novel, I supposed that it could have easily been given four to four and a half stars by those picky reviewers.

Yes, Uglies novel is that good. So they better not fluke it. Or us Uglies fans are going to be very angry indeed. That's not a pretty sight they want to see.

My Office Lady Clothes.

I had finally gotten my Office Lady(OL) Clothes. I had purposely waited for the Great Singapore Sale to arrive before shopping for my OL Clothes.

After all, I am born with a silver spoon in my mouth, and I should save as much as possible. Plus, I am in debt as I have been spending tons on money on assorted stuff for the past few months. Sadly, I had to pay for the OL Clothes assemble myself too.

Why do I need OL Clothes? I had just learned recently, when I first start my Polytechnic life that upon completing certain projects, it's not just as simple submitting it and you are done. You have to present it to your teachers and fellow classmates. Yes,marks are involved.

Plus, according to the CARC Case Study Guide at the Presentation Tips & Tricks section, they mentioned that:

Formal wear is required:
oFor gentleman: appropriate shirt, tie, pants, blazer and shoes.
oFor ladies: appropriate top, skirt or pants, blazer and shoes.

Seriously speaking, if there isn't a dress code to abide to, I certainly wouldn't waste my money on such clothes. After all, it's certainly not something you could wear everyday.

Alas, for the sake of the marks, I have to bear with it. Anyway, if I take good care of the clothes, I am sure that I will be able to wear them once I had started working. I wondered how everyone looks in the formal wear though. =P

I had totally splurged on the Guess bag. I had not intended to do so initially but seeing that the cheaper bags were smaller than I like and the designs was not that pretty. I liked that this bag was formal enough and also extremely big enough for my laptop, files, lecture notes and stuff. After all, I am bound to have lessons before/after the actual presentation. Hopefully, it will last me through the years and please don't break under the strain from the stuff I always carry! After glancing at the price tag, I found out that this bag was meant as a Diaper Bag. That explains the many compartments and the size of the bag. Oh well, as long as it is able to store all my stuff in...

On a side note, I have to say that even such a huge bag in terms of price, isn't comparable to my A4 size Lolita PVC Bag which cost me around $240. I was once again reminded on how expensive Lolita is.

I had wanted to get those chunky heels shoes but since they didn't have what I want, and that I can't walk in those stilettos, considering I have been wearing Sports Shoes for most of my life, I had to adopt to Kitten Heels. I was choosing between two designs at that time. One was a very typical more mature pointy front higher Kitten Heels and the other was what I eventually bought. I don't like pointy shoes and besides, the Kitten Heels that I eventually bought was more sweet, more youthful and it is more likely that I can pair it with my usual casual outfits. ^0^ Even though it was only 3cm high, I wasn't used to kitten heels so I felt like I was in wobbly land when I tried it on. I have been wearing that pair of shoes at home to loosen it up and also to get use to it. I am glad that I had gotten this pair of shoe. ~\(=^0^=)/~

Absolute Boyfriend...and it ends like this. Why?

AHHHHH!!!

I am so depressed over the ending of Absolute Boyfriend. Is this how it ends in the manga too? Everything's ended now. Completed. I had watched everything...from the eleven episodes to the special. This is how it ends.

Why? Sometimes I questioned myself why it must be ended this way. Why life must be like this. Reality is not easy to face up to...but sometimes I find it way to hard. Pretend, ignore, escape...

...

Personally, I like the ending in the episodes better. I wonder if it's the same team who produced the episodes in the Special. The Special ending was just...sad. I had read only the last chapter of the manga to see if the ending was the same. Several differences were immediately noted, such as in the manga, they were students. In the drama, they were working adults. In the manga, Soshi went to Spain alone while in the drama, both of them went to Paris. In the episodes and the manga, the ending was almost the same though. However, with the Special, the ending was vastly different from the manga. It was even more cruel. T.T

I have to say that Hayami Mokomichi, the guy who acted as Tenjo Night, is quite a decent actor. Being only 24 years old(going to be 25 on August 10), he depicts a robot quite well. I can see the differences in the moments when he was running according to the program, to when he started developing his own mind clearly, from the different usage of voice, movements etc.

Thumbs up for him. =D

I am hooked on Maximum Ride!

Introducing...Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment!

The Angel Experiment is the first book of the series and it's quite cool. It's fast paced so far but plot is well unfolding along the way. It's not as direct and more like a puzzle where little bits are given throughout the whole book. Even though the ending isn't a ending, it indicates clearly enough that there will be sequels to follow the story. I had just finished The Angel Experiment today and will start on the second book, Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever perhaps later tonight.

Below is the summary of the story written by me.

Like UGLIES, the moment I had finished this book, I had the same thought that it would make a great movie. A little search via Google indicates that my gut feeling is right again.

In January 2007, it was announced that a film would be created based on the Maximum Ride series. James Patterson will be the executive producer. Avi Arad, one of the producers of Spider-Man, X-Men and other Marvel movies, will also produce alongside Steven Paul. In an interview with James Patterson, it was revealed that Arad has already planned out the first two movies. On August 7, 2008, it was announced that Columbia Pictures bought the screen rights to the franchise. Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) will direct the first movie, with Don Payne writing the script. The movie is scheduled for a 2010 release. It was posted on the author's site under Max's Blog that Kristen Stewart (Female lead in Twilight) is likely to audition for Maximum, the role that she is most alike, since director Catherine Hardwicke stated in an interview that she would be soliciting Stewart to audition for a role.

What's going for these few weeks?

Let's start with last week.

Last Week: 24 May 2009(Sunday)-31 May 2009(Sunday)

This week has been really hectic. There are a total number of three projects which required reviewing or handing up. They are namely Introduction to Human & Computer Interaction(iHCI) Project Proposal Part 1(handed up today, 28 May 2009, Thursday, consists of twenty percent of our marks), Web Design Project Proposal(WDS)(reviewed by teacher on Monday, 25 May 2009) and lastly, Computer Architecture(CARC)(reviewed by teacher on Tuesday, 26 May 2009).

WDS proposal
I had borrowed couple of books from my school's library and with the collection of Gothic & Lolita Bible I have, I supposed that there's no problem with my proposal. however, I find that it would be better if I am able to find more information in English on how the style had evolved throughout the years. I am still typing on the proposal though. I have tons to write but I am too lazy to do so.

CARC

A total nightmare. I didn't let the teacher see it as it's not even in written form yet? I don't know to to get started! What's with the hacker deal? O.O

iHCI

This is one of the easier projects that I had encountered. The content of this subject seems relatively like Design & Technology, only that it teaches eve more on the principles we should bare in mind in creating a product that allows easy usage by humans. Although easy to understand in concept, we as a group, took until almost the very last minute before deciding on the specifications our product should have and what our product have to offer. After our usual lessons on Wednesday, 27 may 2009, we sat down outside the Lecture Theaters and began discussing with me typing on my laptop. It took us only around one and half hours to get the first two part done. After that, all that was left was the personal PACT Analysis. I started doing it at around 10pm+ and finally finished completing it nearly until 3am. I went to sleep at around 3pm+ and woke up at 6.30am the next day.

Needless to say, I was practically a walking zombie prancing around at school.

Lolita Make Up Class on Saturday, 30 May 2009

It's been a long time since I had wore Lolita. The last time I had worn Lolita was during EOY 08 in December, and that was with a friend, Ah Kong.

I had gotten into the Lolita scene due to my friend, Elie's influence. Now that Elie had declared that she will not wear Lolita again for an unlimited period of time, and that my other Lolita friends who lived close to me are taking "O" Levels, I have to brave through the crowd alone.

Actually, it's not the crowd, just that I have to travel alone to get to the event itself. Sure, it's not a long amount of period of time. However, the stress of pretending not to notice the others weird looks and whispers can get to you after sometime.

However, say, even if you have a friend, even if it's a non-Lolita friend who is just wear casual, at least the support of your friends will get you through. You might even have fun during the traveling period.

Yet, my love for Lolita was too great to not to give up Lolita totally. So I was back to pretending not to notice the weird looks the passersby were giving me.

I arrived late by around five minutes or so at the event itself. As I am not familiar with the campus itself, I had to ask a SMU student for directions. I noted that both of them were trying to contain their laughs. Oh well. They really should take a look at the different cultures, not just Japanese, in the world instead of laughing at it though.

The makeup teacher, Francine, was younger than I had thought to be. She used to be with M.A.C but now she is with Inouvi Cosmetics.

I regretted not putting up my hand when she asked for a Lolita to be her model.

Time flies and the three hours of class was definitely not enough! I hope that there will be another makeup class in the future! I had finally got up the courage of putting on makeup on my face after the class. The class was certainly beneficial to me for I had managed to learn some basics to application of makeup.

In the end, I had only applied eye shadow, mascara, blusher, lip gloss and drew on brows as the foundation Makiyo lent me didn't suits my skin tone and, being a newbie, I took ages on each step.

Nevertheless, many thanks to Makiyo-chan for lending me her makeup haul! =D

My makeup goal? To be able to look naturally flawless and cute with big eyes~...something like the makeup you will see in Popteen magazine. I will post scans of the makeup I wish to mimic later...

After the makeup class, most of the people went to Black Alice to sit down and chat until around evening time. A small group of us then went down to Nihon Mura at B1 to eat our dinner. I had ordered a bowl of ramen. The others order a pot of green tea(which was very nice) and a waffle with strawberry ice-cream(which was heavenly!~ it just melts in my mouth! =D). Too bad that I had forgotten to take pictures of those delicious food!

I was supposed to go to my grandmother's house today but I didn't in order to revise for my tests.

As the black ink ran out, I had to revise for my WDS test by viewing the lecture notes and doing the tutorials on computer. I kept getting distracted and was surfing websites instead of revising. I had finally created a facebook account after many prompting by my friends.

The day was spent with 70% of the time at playing games and surfing the net. I am so guilty. >.<|||

The day of two tests. Namely Web Design(WDS) from 10am-11.30am and Computing Mathematics 1(CMATHS 1) from 3pm-4.30pm.

I had reached school early and went to sat down at a table, playing with my handphone waiting for the others to arrive. One by one, my classmates arrive. Of all of my classmates, I think that the most "hardcore" in revising was CT. He actually prepared handwritten notes!

I was the only few who didn't prepared notes. In the end, we helped each other revised and I actually managed to memorize some things I hadn't known before. Many thanks to CT who patiently taught me the CRAP and some other principles I most know. =D

As we approached the test venue, I felt a little more prepared an confident than before due to our quick revising session. =D

The paper was not straightforward than I had thought it will be. Overall, it was quite ok.

As I had mentioned before, I will be going to a make-up class on this upcoming Saturday, 30th May 2009. Being free of charge, we will need to bring our own make-up and I don't have any!

The list of items we will be required to at least bring is as below:

Free Standing Mirror (important!)
Personal Foundation
Concealers
Eyebrow Pencils
Eyeliner (can be liquid, pencil or gel)
Some Eyeshadow Colours (any will do, and all should try to bring so that they can try the colours)
Mascara, Fake Eyelashes
Blushers and Lip Colours
Brushes; it’ll be best to have their own so that they can try.
Make Up Remover

Please introduce me to some good and easy to use cosmetics items for the items in the list above! Most of all, the items must be in affordable range and best if it can be found in Wastons or Star Dust. No expensive brands like Anna Sui, Estée Lauder etc please! I don't have tons of allowance to spend on unlike some of you out there.

Another note is that I am a newbie in make-up...thus, easy to use is very important as well! ^0^

Delay of new blog post...

Hi everyone~!

Yes, I know that I hadn't been updating my blog as regularly as I has been during the holidays.

I regret to inform you that I most probably wouldn't be updating my blog for this and maybe the first few days of next week.

Why?

This week is the 6th week since I had started school and 3 of my major projects are required to be given to my teachers for a feedback review or graded. Thus, I needed to spend more of my time on the projects instead of blogging.

Not to forget that I have 3 term test papers next week, namely on 1st and 2nd of June 2009. The latest that the papers will end for each day will be 4.30pm.

The timetable for my Term Test next week are as below:

1st June 2009, Monday
Web Design 10am-11.30am
Computing Mathematics 3pm-4.30pm

2nd June 2009, Tuesday
Problem Solving and Programming 3pm-4.30pm

According to my knowledge, if there are no papers on that day, I wouldn't have to go to school. So...looks like from 3rd June and onwards, it's holidays for me! Officially, my holidays will start from 6th June 2009 to 21 June 2009. =D

I long for the holidays!

Yet...according to my teachers, the workload will be even heavier after this break...

WHAT!!!

The workload for this term is considered light?! O.O

Perhaps...it because I haven't adjusted to this way of studying...I hope that this is the reason...

I am going to a Lolita Make Up Class this Saturday! It's free!

That's right today's the big day where I have to go on to the battlefield for a battle!

Who am I battling with? In this case, it's just me, myself and I alone.

It all goes down to courage.

Do I have the courage to put the contact lenses in and take it out?

Perhaps to some of you out there, this is child's play.

Yet to me, this is something frightening and unknown. What if...? What if...? What if...? Come on, this is my eyes we are talking about.

Then again, if those people can do it, then I can too.

Cheer for me. For I will hear your encouragements no matter where you are.

Only around 2 hours and 19 minutes and still counting down to my fight down at the battlefield.

I finally got up the courage to get contact lenses.

I had wanted to get coloured contact lenses but upon hearing that I am a first timer, the optician advised me to let my eyes have a chance to get used to clear contacts first beforing exploring the other types of many designs which contact lenses offer. As I have already decided that I will only be wearing contact lenses when I am wearing Lolita or during some special occasion, daily contact lenses would be the way to go. The optician introduced me to a brand called Biomedics. According to her, it's quite a decent brand. I noticed that it's the same brand as my friend's contact lenses as well. I am not really sure if it's spelled that way since I only got a glimpse of the brand name when she showed me the brochure. I will confirm again once I had receieved it. ^0^

Being a first timer with contact lenses, I will have to go through a lesson with the optician to learn how to put on and take care of the lenses. According to her,some might be able to get the contact lenses in and out of their eyes quickly while for the others, they still couldn't get it even after DAYS of lesson and coaching.

I hope that I will be a fast learner and that I will have the courage to do it. Plus, I hope that it will be as comfortable as possible! I don't want to be stuck with irritating and dry eyes! No risk!

My battle shall begin tomorrow...I hope that it will be a quick one, with me as the last one standing, proudly doing so. For victory must be mine!

I shalln't type any more for I still have my WDS Project Proposal to take care of...*I am typing this in my school library you see...*

The theme of the music video is water, mystique, and black. Whereas the teaser gave us "mystique" and "black", we can finally understand the water concept! In my opinion, this I Did It For Love MV is certainly tons better than the Eat You Up MV directed by Diane Martel. The water and the fan is the coolest part of the MV.

Hi ya everyone!

I am sure that you should have notice it the moment you came into this little blog of mine. If you didn't you should really go and see a doctor to get your eyes checked!

I have finally changed my blog skin. That's right! After using that Gaara blog skin for more than a year, it's getting as little deary here so I have decided to search for my new blog skin.

Initially, I had wanted to get an Inuyasha blog skin but I couldn't find one that I love. I remembered that there used be pages and pages of Inuyasha blog skin so imagined my surprise when I saw that there were only four or five pages of Inuyasha blog skins!

I couldn't find any Doraemon blog skins that I really love either.

Oh well...

Thus, when I saw this really cute Tsubasa Chronicle skin, I just had to get it! The image is Sakura and Syaoran when they were young. aren't they cute?

I have changed the song of the blog from Hero by Mariah Carey to Bittersweet by Within Temptation. Bittersweet is a really beautiful song and I hope that you people will agree with me after you have listened to it! =D

BoA's songs are perfect for Twilight?

When I first heard BoA's songs "Eat You Up" and "Scream", I didn't give much thoughts to it. Especially the song "Eat You Up" since I didn't really like it the moment I heard it. I have to admit that it's catchy though and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

However, while I was scrolling through the videos of BoA's "Eat You Up", trying to find one with lyrics, I noticed the comments saying that it was perfect song for Twilight and that it should earn a place in the soundtrack for New Moon or something. That goes for the same thing when I read the comments for BoA's song "Scream".

I was like, "That's right! Why didn't I notice it before?", I guess I could blame it on me not being a Twilight fan. I am not saying that I hate twilight. It's just that I had never ever had the urge to want to read the series.

Well, let's get back to topic.

With that in mind, I searched YouTube for fan made videos for Twilight using BoA's song "Eat You Up" and not surprisingly, I had found quite a few. I watched through several videos using clips from the movies and below is the fan made video I like best. The lyrics for Eat You Up is also posted for reference. Besides that, I had also found a "Eat You Up" cover by one of the Youtubers, Natalie White, and I think that she's really good at it. (Maybe due some credit to her professional equipment.) Upcoming books release from Scott Westerfeld

Anyone who knows me well enough will know that Scott Westerfeld is my favourite author. I was browsing through his blog today and was delighted to find a new post. It's been a week since he had last posted.

The new post features information on what he will be doing for this year and I saw the release date for Leviathan, a new series from Scott Westerfeld himself . I had read the sneak preview from Bogus to Bubbly and it certainly looks promising. It's going to be released on 6 October 2009.

Plus, not to forget that he revealed that on 28 October 2009, The Collector's Set, which is a collection of all the books in the UGLIES Series, will be released! UGLIES is my all time favourite series so this is a great news for me! To be able to own all in a box! Check out the cover below:

While I was at Popular today, I accidentally topple over a boxed sushi recipe book that contains free chopsticks, sauce plate and rolling mat as well. In an attempt to save it, I accidentally pushed my thumb against it and my nail broke. Argh. There was a little blood and luckily for me, the part where it broke wasn't too deep in and at least the sushi recipe set wasn't harmed or I will have to pay for it. >.<

I wanted to start making those felt cookies yesterday but I couldn't find my serrated shears. Where has it gone to? I remember getting one when I was in Secondary One for Home Economics...but I search for it where I had remembered storing it, at least I thought I had, I couldn't find it. Perhaps it's tucked away some where in the pile of books in the book shelf...oh well...I will find it (hopefully) when I do my "Spring Cleaning". If not, I will have to get another one...*sigh*

Where's my sound???

It's incredibly frustrating for me, to turn on the computer, launch Windows Media Player, happily playing the sounds that I love to listen to, then when I visit any websites that includes flash videos,e.g. YouTube, the videos are working fine but there's no audio at all.

From the comments, I deduced that it's to be my computer at fault as nobody else had complained on the lack of audio.

That was perplexing indeed. After all, all the music programs were playing out the audio without any problem. The problem only occur when flash videos are at work.

I checked my computer for mute, tinkering around with the volume control and speaker. I even pulled out the speaker and re-install everything. The problem was not solved.

That aggravate me. I decided to consult the help the of the mighty Internet. With a search, I found a website with instructions. I followed it and after that, I restarted my internet browser.

Thank goodness for that website! It works! The sound starts to flowing out of my speaker again.

The problem reoccur today. I decided to try the same thing again. It does solve the problem. However, I don't know what I will do if it doesn't work anymore...*sigh*

Ever since this problem occur, I started to be grateful whenever audio starts playing the moment I enters somebody's website. Although the music might not be my liking, at least I still have sound coming out of my speakers...

BoA to be released soon after it's release in U.S/BEST&USA release

I was sick with waiting around so I decided to find out the release dates with the help of Google. I was not entirely happy with what I had found but it was better than nothing.

Technically, the BEST & USA Japan edition is already out at HMV but with a expensive price, that's expected for Japan products. The BEST & USA 2CD+2DVD edition, at ¥5,300, it coverts to around Singapore $80. 0.0|||

It's best waiting for the overseas edition as it will be much cheaper than the Japan edition.

According to several websites, there's no exact date for BoA to be released in Asia but it's expected to be soon.

The self-titled album will also be released in Korea and Japan Wednesday and in China, Malaysia, India, Singapore and Thailand later.

BoA is likely to have a concert tour in America in June too.

South Korea's top pop star BoA has unveiled a plan to make a concert tour of the United States in June.

In a recent interview with MTV Iggy in the U.S., BoA has selected Miami as her favorite destination for concerts.

BoA was quoted as saying, ``I like New York but I really want to go to Miami. Miami looked nice in the movie, like a paradise.''

In mid-March, BoA released her first U.S. album amid high expectations that she will be able to reenact her success story in Japan in the world's largest album market.

The album contains 11 songs including flagship song "I Did It For Love," and dance tracks "Energetic," "Eat You Up," and "Look Who's Talking." The flagship song was written by Sean Garrett, the famous American producer, and its video was directed by Joseph Kahn, who has made promos for Britney Spears, Chris Brown and Eminem and won the Best Video of the Year and Best Direction in the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards.

BoA's album ranked 127th in the Billboard 200 Album Charts announced on March 26. It was the first time that a Korean singer had entered the Billboard chart.

I popped into the CD-RAMA today and just as I had guessed, there's no sight of BoA even though it was already released in Taiwan. Expected but yet, I was disappointed. After all, if BoA does come to shores, it does means that BEST & USA 2CD+2DVD edition will be following it's tracks soon. I shall wait until Tuesday, April 7, 2009, which is the date for the physical album release in Canada. Sure, Canada is so far away but still, if BoA doesn't reaches the shore soon, it means trouble for us fans. I hope that BEST & USA isn't exclusive for sales in Japan only. After all, the Best of Soul was available in Singapore.

The scorching heat is almost unbearable! My house feels like an oven and I can't do anything about it since with air-condition means rising electricity bills. It was even worse outside. You can't do without an umbrella these days with the blisterig heat from the Sun. I had just ate a ice-cream but it doesn't actually quench my thirst as I had hoped for. Perhaps a cold drink would be better but except for milk, there's none other choices to choose from. I do drink milk but sadly, the milk carton doesn't belong to me and if I do finish it, I would have to replace it. With my current state, I wouldn't want to spend more money on stuff since I am almost broke.

So it's back to plain, warm water for now.

I didn't sleep well this past few nights either. With the heat (I sleep with only the fan on) and the too thick blanket, it's hard to fall into a peaceful sleep. I get awoken easily, and now, even before my mother's alarm clock ring at 5.30am, I lay there, awake, waiting for the time to pass, until my brother had left for school which is around an hour later. That's when finally I will get a little sleepy and slowly drift back into sleep for another three hours before I get up and start my day.

My mother commented that if the day goes on with this unbearable heat, she will on the air-condition in the night. I do hope so.

I don't want another restless night again...

I had just been to CD-RAMA again this morning. In the staff's eyes, I must look like some suspicious person to them, walking in and out, in and out of the store. While in reality, I am actually waiting for a chance when the staff is free so that I could ask he/she when the stock for BEST & USA is coming in.

Finally, after more than half an hour of walking aimlessly around the mall and checking on the shelves to see if BEST & USA is on the shelves, I saw my opportunity.

The female staff at the counter of CD-RAMA was free after the customer, who had bought lots of things, had left. Finally.

Upon hearing my question, she was stumped. It turns up that she was only standing in for a CD-RAMA staff that had left for lunch. Thus, she was not familiar with the items in CD-RAMA. She did try to help me though, after I had written down the name of the album and the singer on a piece of paper.

That started a session on rummaging through the shelves for the album even though I knew that it wouldn't be there. After all, I had done the same thing before, and the album certainly didn't appear right before my eyes.

After five minutes, she gave up and asked if I could come back when the staff has return from lunch. Since I have tons of free time on my hands, I agreed.

I took my time to return. After around ten minutes, that's five minutes more than the said time, I returned.

The actual staff for the CD-RAMA store has returned. It was another female. That suits me. After repeating the same question, she gave me the same answer that I had been hearing for so many times. No. When I questioned if she did know when will the stock arrive, she checked the "memo" (that was actually a pile of shrink down black and white slideshow featuring each album cover, singer and arrive date), and failed to find BEST & USA or even the debut eponymous English studio album, BoA. According to her, the "memo" was the latest one. Thus, by rights, if there were any news on BEST & USA. It would be in the future "memo". With that, she proceeded on taking out the list of contact numbers and details and asked me if I would like to put by name down. She promised that when the album arrive in store, she will call to inform me. When I told her I already had, she flipped through the contact list as an attempt to find me. Interestingly, I noted that there were much more names on the contact list, waiting for information on BEST & USA then before. After all, I was the first of that outlet to inquire about the album and to put my name down.

It's good to see that BoA does have fans like me, who wanted to get their hands on BEST & USA as fast as possible.

Tomorrow is the day of release for the album BoA in Taiwan. Since BoA was not found in the "memo", I supposed that when I proceed to the store tomorrow, I wouldn't be seeing it on the shelves.

How long I wonder, will I have to wait for BEST & USA? I supposed that if I had ordered it online, I would have gotten it by now.

My mother suggested me keeping a look out for it while shopping with a friend at Tampines 1. I was actually hoping that I could get it earlier so I could let her listen it as well. I had seen the list of some of the store that would be in Tampines 1 but I didn't notice any music stores on the list.

Oh well, I will see when I get there.

Speaking of Tampines 1, for those who are still in the dark, Tampines 1 is a new shopping mall currently under construction located between the Tampines MRT Station and Tampines Bus Interchange. The mall is slated to open in early 2009. For more information, read it up at Wikipedia and Tampines 1 Official Website.

Since there isn't any actual date for the opening of Tampines 1, I plan to visit the mall when UNIQLO opens. That is Thursday,9 April, 2009.

What's UNIQLO? UNIQLO is Japan’s leading clothing retail chain in terms of both sales and profits. The company also operates in China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France and the United States. The clothes they offer are mostly casual style. So far, I think that the prices are extremely reasonable considering that they are a Japanese brand. As we know, Japan is famous for their high living standards, especially Tokyo. The prices are around the Giordano and Bossini range. Quite affordable though I do hope that they will hold a opening sale for better bargains!

No. Scratch that. I hope that all the stores in Tampines 1 will hold opening sales! I need all the bargains I am going to get.

I had asked a friend along for this shopping trip although I am not sure if she will back out at the last minute, since she is notorious for doing so. I do hope that she will not do so ever again for that matter, even though it's too much to hope for that. My patience is stretching thin this days.

Gosh, I am getting sidetracked.

This shopping trip is required since, well, I am curious about the new mall and UNIQLO, and also due to the reason I am seriously lacking clothes for school after gaining four kilograms from slacking at home. I can't fit in almost all the bottoms. ARGH! Imagine my horror when I realized that. At least I am still underweight...I hate to admit but I am getting seriously unfit though. I can't afford to lose my walking speed. I got to exercise more now. >.<

Thus, this is seriously going to be a hardcore shopping trip. All hail! Fear the shopping demon within me!

Where does the money come from? My mother of course. Thankfully, she had enough wisdom to set aside some money for me to spend on new clothes. I hope that I will have enough money to get all the items I require.

So far, here's my shopping list for school:

2)A new pair of white Loli-able ballet flats/mary janes(that's low-heeled)

Looks easy but difficult to get the items that I totally heart.

I didn't have a chance to totally splurge out on tons of new clothes and shoes before. This is going to be fun.

I had borrowed UGLIES and Bogus to Bubbly again since I need ideas for the Fan made UGLIES movie poster. I had already submitted some ideas yesterday but I think that the ideas are not original enough. Thus, this led it to the need to read it again for ideas. How will it turn out I wonder?

I had also borrowed Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils(天龙八部) DVD from my uncle. After all, I could always watch Inuyasha since I own it but to have a chance to watch Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils(天龙八部) is rare.

Hmm...that's all for today. Let's hope that the shopping trip will go on successfully without a hitch and please let BEST & USA be released soon!

It's officially two weeks after BEST & USA release and I still can't find it in CD-RAMA. I heard that it's due to Avex not confirming with them. I wish that they would just hurry up! I can't wait to get my hands on the album! I wonder if I would have gotten it before my outing on Thursday,9 April, 2009, to Tampines 1*. Sources has it that it will be released on Friday, 3 April, 2009.

*To be said in another upcoming post.

Where's my BEST & USA?

On my last post, I had posted BoA Full Album Preview and also a preview of the I Did It For Love MV. If you had missed it, watch it here.

The BEST & USA album was finally released on 18 March 2009. I went to CD-Rama to see if they have it in stock on 19 March 2009. Unfortunately, not only that they do not have it in stock, the staff doesn't even know that there's such an album! I thought that the staff were supposed to know such things, such as when it will arrive and such? Goodness!

I had gone back to CD-Rama yesterday, 25 March 2009, Wednesday. There's not sight of the album. It's been more than a week and there's no news at all. How slow could they be? -_-|||

Meanwhile, I have already listened to several full versions of her songs and there were several that I like/love so far. I shall post it below for you all to listen to.

In random order:

Scream is a haunting and dark song. based on the lyrics, it makes me thinks of vampires, werewolves, and other dark creatures that roam the night. After listening to the original version by Monrose and the cover by BoA. I decided that although BoA had done quite a decent job singing it, I think that it would be better if she could sing in a even dark and chilly way like Monrose. It would bring out even better the effect of the song. =D

It's been a long time since I had last saw him, or his friends for that matter. How long was it? Was it months or even years? I had lost count. I used to love him a lot. He was on my mind day and night. All the time in school, I was daydreaming when I should be listening to the lessons, or when I was walking, I was always lost in thoughts. I even dreamed of him when I was sleeping. I still remembered the times when I would gush to my friends, who knew him, about how handsome/cute/cool/funny/wonderful he was. They agreed with me. Sure, he has his flaws, but they were not major ones. If one loves him enough, they will embrace his flaws. Although he's a two-timer, I understood that he had his reasons.

Recently, the thought to revisit everything was so intense that I succumbed to it.
As I pulled out pulled out the Inuyasha VCDs Volume One, Disc One, and popped it into my VCD Player, all the emotions came flooding back to me. The story, how I felt about each character e.g. Miroku is a pervert, the music, I was hooked. I had thought that I had not liked it as much as I had before. I was wrong. Now, I loved it more than ever.

Yes, perhaps there are some flaws in the story itself, such as how people seem to be so readily to accept the long list of Kagome's bizarre illness, and how Kagome and Inuyasha seemed to be screaming each others?name every single second. My brother commented on how he was already over from being a fan of Sesshoumaru and how I am still being so childish, watching Inuyasha. Am I childish? Perhaps I am.

Yet, Inuyasha was a lot of things to me. Without Inuyasha, I wouldn't have gotten to know about Japanese music. Without Inuyasha, I wouldn't have bought a keyboard just so that I could learn to play the wonderful opening/ending theme songs and also the beautiful background music which I had fallen in love in. Without Inuyasha, I wouldn't be interested in orchestral music pieces. Without Inuyasha, I wouldn't be interested in anime and manga. Without Inuyasha, I wouldn't grow to love Cosplay and Lolita. Without Inuyasha, I wouldn't have been willing to part with more than three hundred dollars just to collect all the Inuyasha episodes and movies. Do you see now? Without the existence of Inuyasha, I would have been an incredibly different person from who I am now.

It's astoundingly isn't it? How watching an anime can change and mold a person so much. Believe it for I am a perfect example.

I still remembered the time when I first saw Inuyasha on Arts Central (Okto was named Arts Central then). I think that it was the second episode when Kagome returned to present after being pushed down the well by Yura the Demon of Hair. I was curious about the story, however, I didn't gave it much thought until several weeks (or was it months?) later, I saw Inuyasha again on Arts Central. I was channel surfing then, getting ready to sleep. I saw the part where Kagome jumped into the well in a huff before returning as she remembered as she had forgotten to take her bag with her. I think that it was the episode when Kikyo tried to drag Inuyasha down to hell. I still remembered how I thought about that flash of episode I had seen. It seemed weird, how Kagome forgotten about her anger when she reappeared again in the well, to retrieve her bag. At that time, I thought that the well was a place where it could make a person loses their memory about what happen a few moments ago. I also mused about the stranger company Kagome keeps as well. Kagome is obviously a girl from present but what's with her friends wearing those weird clothes?

Even though I couldn't quite get it then, my curiosity was already well aroused. I decided to splurge on getting every single episodes (and movies when I knew that Inuyasha had movies as well), since I had a bedtime curfew and Inuyasha was broadcast quite late in the night.
How times flies. It's been more than four years since I had fallen in love with Inuyasha. Sine I don't have much things going on now, I have been watching a couple episodes every day, during lunch. I once thought that the magic was lost.

Now, I knew that that my love for Inuyasha is always there.

I suppose it will still last throughout many many years in the future.

After all, I had watched several other anime and the magic was not as strong as Inuyasha. I love all the opening and ending theme songs plus the background music in Inuyasha. I love the story for how it is although I do wish that Naraku should get his retribution soon! For the other anime which I had seen, at most I only like several songs. The story, to me, was not as captivating as Inuyasha.

There were times when I marvel at Kagome's bravery. After all, its everyday a girl from the twenty-first century went back to the past and fight demons, living the life of travelers outside in the wild. Sure, she had Inuyasha at that time. However, it was wise to note that she had only known him for such a little period of time. Besides the "sit" chant, there was nothing else that was stopping Inuyasha from killing her and taking that piece of Shikon no Tama shard away. Besides that, how could she stand living with shower or bath (even if she wanted to, by doing so in the river), sleeping in the wild and always running away and fighting demons! All those creepy stuff she had never seen before and suddenly, boom! She has to deal with them! No doubt, all these experiences had totally strengthened her physically and mentally. I suppose given her condition now, even if when she had some encounter with some robbery or kidnapper back at present time, she wouldn't even flinch. After all, there was no way they could be more frightening than those disgusting demons.

I also love it when Inuyasha follows Kagome to the present. It's just so funny to watch! There was one episode when a robber demanded Inuyasha to get out of his way or he will kill him. Of course the bank robber had no way to know that Inuyasha was much stronger than him. Pissed, Inuyasha just punched his face which knocked him out. The other time when Inuyasha went to Kagome's school to kill the dried demons was pretty hilarious to watch as well. Inuyasha was jealous of how Hojo was declaring his love to Kagome when in reality; both of them were actually performing in a play. Inuyasha just went through the backdrop and crashed onto the stage. When a watermelon demon popped up onto the stage between Kagome and Hojo, Hojo wanted to kill the demon with his sword as he had no clue that it was a real demon and it is capable of killing him, a mere mortal. Kagome, worried about Hojo's safety, urged Inuyasha to kill the demon. Even though Inuyasha could just kill the demon with his claws, he deliberately used Wind Scar to show Hojo that he's the stronger one and wanted him to abolish any ideas he had with Kagome. This resulted in blowing a hole out of the roof. Kagome quickly ended the now messed up play by asking Inuyasha to jumped her away. The oblivious crowd gave them a full standing ovation with cheers as they thought that the effect they had seen was purely special effects and it was the best they had ever seen.

To be honest, it frustrates me that Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kaede were unable to visit Kagome in present time. How marvelous it would be to be able to see their faces when they saw Japan in its twenty-first century glory! There was no definite ending for Inuyasha anime and movie. I hope that the creators of the anime will keep this in mind. Please let them have a chance to go to twenty-first century and let Naraku be dead once and for all! Please let Kagome be with Inuyasha and Kikyo rest in peace!

House Phone Line Is Activated!

The phone line is finally fixed. My house phone line has been down for several days starting from last Friday, 13 March 2009. They cut the line in the morning. We thought that all will be fine when the SingTel Technical Personal come to install the modem. He came at around 4pm+. We expect that it wouldn't take him too long to get it fixed and before the broadband and the phone line will start working as per normal. Alas, that was only what we hope for in our dreams.

Friday the thirteen was not a lucky day for us. He fiddled around for more than an hour and had called for help on his phone for umpteen times. Our Mio Voice was still not working. It turns up that as I quote from him, the exchange was not registered with Asp Neo? and thus, we need to wait for a day before our Mio Voice will start working. He gave me a number and said that if my Mio Voice was not working by Saturday, 14 March 2009, I will be required to call the number for help. When I asked him what time he Mio Voice will start working, it appears to me that he did not know the answer. Thus, I waited until Monday, 16 March 2009, to make the call as I was not sure if the Customer Service Officers do work on a Sunday. I have to borrow the phone from my neighbour to make the call. Luckily for me, she was incredibly willing to lend me her phone while my mother stayed to hat with her. All of the officers were engaged when I called, thus, I had to wait for around ten minutes or more before I was finally connected to an officer. The lady directed me to another number when she heard of my situation. Thus, I have to make another call using the given number. A soothing female mechanical voice greeted me and after I have pressed the right numbers, it directed me to another officer. Thankfully, the female officer gave me two options after she had understood of my plight. One was to book an appointment for the technical man to come again on Tuesday, 17 March 2009, during 11pm to 1pm. After booking the appointment, she proceeded with the second option which was to reset the line even though in her record, it appears to her that our phone line is line? All I had to do after that was to off and on my modem again. The first time I tried to call my house using my hand phone, I still get the weird noise. I decided to try for a second time. A couple seconds later, I heard the sweet sound of both of my house phones ringing. The line is working again! It has been working smoothly ever since that fateful 1.30pm. I hope that it will continue to do so for a very long time...

If you are wondering what happened to the appointment that I had booked, don't worry. I did call to cancel the appointment the minute the Mio Voice was active.

The Mio Voice package which my father had signed up for allows us to have free incoming and outgoing calls. I am happy to say that my ears wouldn't be subject to my mother's nagging on the phone bills! Thank goodness for that! The package also includes features such as call waiting, 3 lines, call forwarding etc. Isn't that cool?

Miracles Do Happen! My New Handphone!

That's right folks! You didn't read the title wrongly. Miracles do indeed happen! I had gotten my new handphone! Guess what? It's new and it's the model and colour I wanted too! Looks like the sun will start rising from the other side now!

My dear friends will certainly understand how hard it is to get anything from my father. Let alone having him pay the full cost of the phone. I am sure that what he have in mind initially was to get $0 phone with 2 years contract. Alas, when I had my heart set on Sony Ericsson W595 that cost $168 last December, he was all against it. Even when I offered to pay the full cost of the phone and I even gave him the cash right on spot! Did he relent? No! Obviously, he wanted a $0 phone. I want to get a $0 phone too. However, I had done some research(reviews, asking around etc) and found out that the phones that were available for $0 at that time were not very reliable. They will shut off or on suddenly and even cutting off right in the middle of a call. What's the use of a $0 phone if it can't even get it's basics right? He waved me away with a promise that he will get me the phone before Chinese New Year if the price of the phone doesn't drop. He broke the promise.

By the time the fifteen days of Chinese New Year were over, I longer held hopes of getting a new phone. At most I will buy a phone for myself when I start work. After all, I had waited for four years for a new phone. It wouldn't hurt me to wait for another three years.

After another few more promises broken later, he said that he will pay for the phone(which cost $198) I wanted and that I will get it on 3rd March 2009, Tuesday.

Amazingly, I did. I found it on my table in the morning when I woke up.

A miracle indeed.

In it, I found a receipt for the phone and a Singtel bill. The phone already had a plastic casing which serves as a protect case to protect the phone from harm. I think he bought it since phone doesn't comes with that for free. That's good. Protecting my phone from scratches and all. A 2GB memory card is already slot into the phone too. =D However, it seems like he had changed the broadband contract to Mio as well. The Mio facilities are fantastic. However, what worries me is that in order for our home to be able to receive calls, we have to keep our modem on all the time. I am worried that our modem will get spoiled easily. If that's so, that means no internet and no phone! We have to go to that place and get it changed ourself too. Such hassle. What if it's night and we have to use the computer to do project? Our schoolwork will get affected if we can't complete the project on time due to the lack of internet!

I shall worry about that later...

I suspect the reason he paid for my phone is so that he can claim that he has no money to buy a laptop for school after paying for my phone. A perfect excuse indeed. Even though he had already did tell me to pay for laptop using my bank money...still, I can't help wondering...

Not that this day is a special day for me. It's another normal, boring day for me. I was supposed to go out with a friend but she backed out at the last minute. I understood that she had no choice but still...I can't help feeling pissed off. As my mother says, there's only a 10% chance to be able to go out without any sudden changes/cancellations with this particular friend.

Anyway, I hope that everyone else will will enjoy this special day thoroughly.

The bizarre technologies....The search for a Laptop...Plus Iron Man&Hair Dryer

FINALLY! I had bought the Iron Man VCD,couple days ago, from TS at $12.50, a few dollars cheaper than the selling price $15.90 at CD-RAMA. Indeed, I had watched Iron Man before...however, it was good enough to re-watch tons of times. That's the reason why I am willing to fork out that couple bucks for it. That's true for TRANSFORMER as well, though the VCD seems to be out of stock at TS. Oh well, maybe next time! I re-watched it the very same day I bought it and I enjoyed thoroughly. I even managed to watched the scene after the credits which promised a sequel. I missed that part when I was in the cinemas.

That wasn't the only stuff I had bought recently. I had bought a Philips SalonDry 'n Straight HP 4867 at Harvey Norman today, 5 February 2009, Thursday. It costs me $69.90. I haven't tried it yet. I will after my shower. The salesman said that if it's spoiled, I can get a new one free of charge if I have the receipt. The picture is as below. You can find information of it here. Initially, I was thinking of getting a Braun hair dryer. However, I soon aborted the plan as a better one means an expensive one. Then, I was thinking of getting a Philips SalonDry Professional HP 4992 or Philips SalonDry Control HP 4983 or Philips SalonDry 'n Straight HP 4867. I decided to bought the last option as I decided that I don't need that high watt and I heard that a higher watt means more damage to the hair. Besides, Philips SalonDry 'n Straight HP 4867 has a floating comb which is used for straightening the hair. Thus, I have more options to choose from.

Below is an account of what happened today.

After going to a Polyclinic with my mother, we went to a shopping mall. After shopping around, my mother wanted me to look for clothes so that I could wear to Polytechnic but it's either it doesn't suit me or I don't like it. Oh well. I will try UNIQLO when it opens. I am thinking of getting a pair brown coloured low heeled boots. I had always like boots. This could be the perfect chance for me to get it!

After lunch, we were basically wandering around aimlessly in that mall. I suggested going to Challenger since I just wanted to see the laptops they are selling there. I am going to get a laptop(FINALLY!~)for my studies at Polytechnic. I saw the cute pink laptop I saw someone using at the library. However, the keyboard is white in colour which means that it will get dirty very easily. Among those laptops that I had seen, I love the cute HP Mini 1000 that cost only $799. It light and small enough and it's keyboard is superb! The keys are big and easy to press! That's the thing I loved about it most. I found later at home via internet it's disadvantages which put me off by a little. I took couple of pamphlets before leaving Challenger. We head for Harvey Norman to get that Philips SalonDry 'n Straight HP 4867 when I saw the very same HP MIni 1000selling at the very same price as Challenger. So cute!
Oh well, I got the Philips SalonDry 'n Straight HP 4867 after the very same salesman who had sold us the vacuum cleaner explained to me it's features. After his explanation, I knew clearly that Philips SalonDry 'n Straight HP 4867 is the hair dryer I wanted. Hopefully it will work well and give me shiny beautiful hair with less damage!

Now that the re-account is done, I shall list down the criteria hopefully the laptop I am going to buy will meet.

1) Small-I don't want a big one that might not fit into my bag.
2) Light-So I wouldn't have a heavy bag.
3) Decent features and stuff.
4) Wireless.
5) Great price-This is a hard one to meet.

I think that's all. I don't know much about laptops, computers and all that software and hardware anyway. I don't even know what's a Intel Core 2 Duo...looks like I need to consult my uncles again...>.<|||

BoA is going to release her debut self-titled English album,BoA, on 17th March 2009. Following the release of her English album, BoA is going to release her second greatest hit album on 18th March 2009. There are several version of it. I had found the information of the albums from Wikipedia as quoted below. More information about the tracks and the albums can be found at the BoA discography website.

Best & USA will be the second greatest hits album by South Korean pop singer BoA. The album will be released in CD, 2CD and a limited 2CD+2DVD edition. The CD version will contain all of BoA's Japanese singles from Do the Motion to Eien/Universe/Believe in Love, and two tracks from her English debut album, BoA. The 2CD and 2CD+2DVD version contains two extra tracks on her Japan Best CD, and a separate CD containing her debut English album.^[1]

Post Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld - The Seven Magic Users on aired at Channel 8

The Doraemon 2007 movie, Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld - The Seven Magic Users was aired on Channel 8, 27 January 2009, Tuesday.

Although I do own the the DVD, I made it a point to climb out of my bed at 9.20am and watched the movie at 10am sharp.

After watching it, I certainly had some things to say about. No, not of the movie itself but rather, the missing of some scenes in the movie.

It's quite obvious that somebody had cut away some scenes as they might deemed it no help to continual to the storyline.

I certainly do not think so. Every scene in the movie counts and those missing scenes are actually some funny parts or parts that will lead us to know more about Doraemon.

Yes, I am pissed. Somehow they have to cut away scenes. In other shows I had watched, that happens as well.

Let me list down the scenes and changes I had noticed to the movie you had seen on the television.

1) When Doraemon had that stomachache and went back to the 22th Century, there's actually a scene which Doraemi wanted to drag Doraemon to a capsule that will give Doraemon a thorough body checkup. Doraemon's stomachache had stopped by then, refused to obey and ran back to Nobita's house. From this incident, we can actually learned that Doraemon is afraid of taking a health checkup besides his well known fear of mice.

2) After the proposing the idea of having a magical world to replace reality, Nobita and Doraemon tried to used magic but to no avail. This is a funny scene as both were shouting random curses and were going all for it.

3) On the way to the hill behind Nobita's school to check out the black meteorite, Shizuka marveled at Doraemon's use of magic that enable him to fly. She was actually referring the Take-copter. Doraemon said that the use of Take-copter was not due to his magic but science and technology. Shizuka then laughed at Doraemon for believing in science and technology as they were both superstitions. This was one of the effect of changing the reality world into the magical world.

4) The floating magic chant that was commonly used throughout the movie, differ in Japanese and Chinese. In Japanese version, it was "Jin Ka La Hoi!" but in Chinese version, it was changed to "Chan Ku La Ho!".

That's about the changes and missing scenes I had noted. Perhaps I had missed out some but..oh well, if you wished to watch the entire movie without any missing scenes or advertisements, getting the DVD is the way to go!

By comparing the movie posters and the trailers. I am sure that you would have noticed the differences by now. The year 2007 edition features better graphic and sound. The colour for the year 2007 edition is also more vibrant. Which one do you prefer more? =D

Although Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld - The Seven Magic Users is said to be a remake of the Doraemon: Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld, the storyline for the year 2007 edition is slightly tweaked and some addition of new characters so that when we are watching it, we will be familiar with the characters but we wouldn't know exactly what will happen next. That is indeed a refreshing change and one wouldn't be bored from watching the remake even though he/she had watched the year 1984 edition before.

I owned both movies and if you ask me which one I prefer more, I shall say the year 2007 edition is the one that I love. The storyline is tweaked so that it's more touching and of course, not to forget the lovely graphics and audio quality! ^0^

Once Again...A Brand New Year...Random Thoughts and Blurbs

Tuesday, January 6, 2009. The sixth day of a brand new year. It's supposed to be a school day and yet I am not in school. It feels kind of weird, watching everyone wearing school uniform, coming back and going to school. Yet, I am not a part of it. I guessed that I am still not used to the fact that I am going on to another stage of my life.

I will be changing my hairstyle again. Between 19 January 2009, Monday, to 23 January 2009, Friday, I will be going to the salon on one of the days with my mother for a new haircut and rebond my fringe at the same time. I have decided to grow out my straight blunt fringe for now so that the hairstylist will have more options to choose from when I request for a new hairstyle. If you are wondering what hairstyle I wished to change to, to tell you the truth, I have no idea. I had been looking through my magazines, studying at the different hair lengths and styles, short, medium and long. The hairstyles do fascinate me but I am not really sure what I want. One thing that I am worried of is that the hairstyle might not be suitable for Lolita. >.<

Sometimes I felt like just go for it and cut off my long hair for a medium length or even (GASP!) short hair. The other times, I felt like going for a more punk or rock hairstyle. However, I don't have that courage. LOL!

Even though I don't know the exact hairstyle I want, I had decided on several points to guide the hairstylist to the hairstyle that I will not only like, but love and adore. ^0^

1) Versatile-No matter if it's funky, edgy hairstyle or a sweeter, more demure hairstyle, I am able to achieve it with the hairstyle!
2) Easy to care for-There are some down days and that's when I want to spend less time on my hair and more time on me. I want the hairstyle to look decent or if possible, good even when I am not doing a lot to my hair. Such as just only require some combing. No flat, drably hair please.
3) Suit me-Suit my face type, body shape etc.
4) Unique-More of a special hairstyle that can't be seen everywhere. I love individuality.

I think that's all I can think of now. I will add on when I thought of something new.

Only 19 days to Chinese New Year and 18 days to Chinese New Year Eve! I can't wait for the reunion dinner where lots of delicious food are served! Have you guys bought your new clothes yet? I will be wearing what I had worn to Graduation High Tea to Chinese New Year except that I will replace the knee high socks with the stocking that I had just bought from a Pasar Malam. As for shoes, I am not sure if I should wear my White Lolita Wedge or the BlackxWhite Ballet Flats as seen below.

The White Lolita Wedge cost me $169 while the BlackxWhite Ballet Flats cost me $17.42. I love the White Lolita Wedge as it gives me the added height of 9.5cm and it's really pretty pair of shoe. However, wearing that pair of shoe for prolong time gives me painful feet and I am still not used to wearing such shoes which means awkward walking. I can't even walk well up and down the stairs! I had bought a pair of Insolia inserts but I haven't put them to test yet. Hopefully, it is able to give me added comfort and better balance on that pair of shoes! I must admit that while wearing that pair of BlackxWhite Ballet Flats for a prolong period will give me a slight bruising on the thumb of my feet, it is nothing as compared to the painful feet that the White Lolita Wedge gives me. Another thing I have to consider is that when we go visiting on Chinese New Year, there will be a lot of people going in and out of the house and that means a high chance of people trampling on my pair of shoes. Compared to getting my $169 White Lolita Wedge getting dirty, I would rather let my $17.42 suffer the cruel trampling feet of my relatives. One of the reason that is stopping me from wearing my BlackxWhite Ballet Flats on Chinese New Year itself is that I had worn it to a recent wedding. However, I suppose that the problem can be solved by putting on the white bow shoe clip that I had bought to the flats.

Since Chinese New Year is fast approaching, it's time to take out my pair of White Lolita Wedge and start practicing my walk! I still have 19 days left so who knows! Maybe on that day I might be even able to run on that pair of shoes! O.o

It's January and I ashamed to say that I have not started on finishing clearing the table, cleaning the shelf, bookcase, IKEA cupboard and VCDs/DVDs cupboard! So many things to do and I am just plain lazy to get started! ARGH! Where's my motivation! Come to me!!!!!! I have to! Have to finish it all before school starts! Otherwise goodness know when I am going to start on it when school starts! Maybe I might keep putting it off till many many years later!

Even with so many undone things on my list, I am thinking of adding another item to it. That's get started on sewing. Especially felt food! They are so delectable and delicious looking! Don't believe me? Look at the videos below!

I love the free strawberry tutorial by Hiromi Hughes as the instructions are really clear and easy to understand even for a beginner like me. Too bad all the Felt Cuisine books are ebooks and paid by credit card (I don't have one) or I might buy it. Maybe I shall take a look at Kinokuniya, Borders and Popular? Maybe I will try sewing the strawberries. =D

Does anyone know where I can get felt, stuffing and other sewing materials at a cheap price?

I know there's Spotlight at Plaza Singapura but it's items are seriously expensive. T.T Otherwise I will go there since it's a one stop shop and I can save time and money on going to different shops just to get the items I want.

Gosh. What a long post. I was thinking of adding my new year resolutions to it but I guess that I will save it for another time!

My perfect phone?

The wedding dinner went quite well. Perhaps some people might have something to say about our clothes but who cares. Most of the time, our bodies are hidden from view by the mighty table that holds all the food. Food was decent but tad cold since it was left somewhere around after it was cooked, waiting for the feast to begin.

I had to say that my aunt was gorgeous that night. The dress was a very pretty pure white with a red belt. Not revealing in any way but it still show her curves beautifully. Her makeup was kept light but nicely done too. Thumbs up! =D

There are some failure as well...such as wearing frocks or gowns that are not suitable for their body types. I shall not comment more on it. =X

I had been looking for a new hand phone for quite some time. Around more than a month or so ago, my dad informed me that I could use his contract renewal as an opportunity to get a new hand phone. I had my current phone for around three to four years. I had owned three hand phones(including my current hand phone) till this date. All of them are Nokia, outdated (no longer available on Nokia website) and second hand. Two of the hand phones that I owned are those that doesn't even have colour screen and are those green screens when light up. My current phone is not as outdated as the two other but this phone does not have blue tooth, infrared, mega pixel, flash light, capability to store songs etc.

No doubt, when I saw my brother using his Sony Ericsson W850i (which he had gotten two years ago) , I was envious. Finally, after a long long wait, I am able to get a totally new phone of my choice! Not a second hand one!

Searching for a phone that is good, cheap and with a good plan proved to be difficult. It was either that the phone was too expensive, or the plan is quite good but the phone is not. How do I judge whether the phone is good? Well, I do so by reading reviews from users and editors. Some of the phones requires me to spend a couple hundred bucks even with plan and some, requires me to trade in a phone worth $100 in order to get that $0 deal. As I had mentioned, my hand phones are so outdated that I am not sure if they are even worth $50 altogether!

My brother kept encouraging me to get an Apple iPhone... -_-||| Hello? Just by looking at the price is enough to make me faint.

I am planning to get either a Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot or Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone or Nokia. I am even considering phones that are more for business men but it must be by Sony Ericsson or Nokia.

Is it THAT hard to just get a phone I want?

What to wear to a wedding? The hardest part of being a female....

It's been around 5 years since I had last attended a wedding dinner. Needless to say, I didn't have much appropriate clothes to choose from. After some pondering, I have to settle on my one and only one piece dress. Unfortunately, the pair of shoes which I used to pair the dress with had worn out. I had to pair it with the whiteXblack ballet flats that I own. It was not a coordination that I like but I just have to do with it. Initially, I would like to achieve more of a boho result but I do not have a suitable pair of shoe. Looks like it will be boho with flats. -_-||| I have to get a pair of suitable shoes next time.

My mother asked me to dress her. That is a challenge considering what dominate her wardrobe are T-shirts, denim, shorts and tank tops. I have to cracked my head to think of a suitable coordination. Gosh.

The worst part of this whole thing is that as my mother and I are female, at a suitable age to be expected to dress well. This got to be the hardest part to do since we do not have the right clothes!*sigh*

I hope that we will not be considered as being dressed too inappropriately when we get there and find a sea of people all dressed up. Well, at least I can take some comfort in the fact that most of them are strangers to us and vice versa. >.<

I have less than an hour left to prepare...so long.

It's been a long while since I had sat down at my table(since it was a rubbish dump there.)and just drew anything in my sketchbook or on any paper for that matter.

Finally with my desk cleared(full report with pictures next time)with only random magazines and BABY paper bag left lying on the table, I have enough space to draw again.*Though I wish to get the magazines and BABY paper bag off the table first*

Sure, I had done random drawings, sketches, doodles while I am bored in school but most of the drawings doesn't really count as they are either not complete or really bad. -_-|||

Only two of the drawings I had done in school are those that I will acknowledge. One was done in my blue notebook(magic school uniform girl with two cute follower), the other was done at the very last page of my Mathematic paper(girl's face half covered by hair). Unfortunately, the first was lost some where in my pile of books(let's hope that I can find it) and the other, was handed up to my teacher and never to be seen again. T.T It sucks since I really loved that piece of drawing. Some of you might laugh at my drawings but hey, I never said that I am good at drawing! I am still learning...and I suppose I will still be many years ahead.

One of the reason for wanting to start again, was when I uncovered the forgotten art site that I really love when I was deleting the broken links. It's Zindy-Zone and have a look at her artworks when you have time. I really love her drawing style and they are so lifelike! How I wish that I am able to draw well!

I was wondering what to buy with my Popular 20% Coupon. Now I know. I had threw away tons of my drawing stuff such as drawing pencils, colour pencils and this is a great time to restock. =D

If anyone noticed, besides the new addition of a long due new post, I had made some minor changes around this blog.

I had removed the broken links in the 'shi...links' part. I define broken link as links that led to now where or to a 'This blog has been removed/does not exist' message. Blogs that have been declared closed or neglected (such as not posting for more than a year) are removed as well. The 'shi...links' part is now cleaner with accessible links so you wouldn't be going to a dead end with every click! =D

Besides that, I had also changed the song from 千年之恋(Thousand Years of Love) to Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.

Soon, I will be editing my Wish List as well...for those kind folks out there, how about getting me any one item(or all if you wish to) from my Wish List as a Christmas present? =P

However, I only have $554 and if I do buy a lucky pack, I will only have $285 left! What if the items inside are not suitable for my Graduation High Tea or not my type? Gosh. Just by voicing out my thoughts here, I have decided that I will not buy the Lucky Pack. It's too much of a risk since everything is jumbled up and I don't wish to spend $269 on the possibility of getting something that I don't like.

There's several problems that I have encountered on getting the clothes I want for Graduation High Tea which is on Thursday,13 November 2008.
1)There's no whitexwhite lace socks in store at Black Alice!
2)I just realized that wearing black pannier under a light coloured skirt will show! I need to get/borrow a white pannier and I don't have enough money/time to order!
3)I need more money!
4)The pair of shoes which I want might not be able to fit me!

OH NO!

I should have thought of these sooner!~

Once again. the adorable Doraemon is back with another new movie for the year 2009!

This time, it's a re-make movie of Nobita's Spaceblazer that was released in Japan on 14 March 1981. Such a long time ago year 1981 was isn't it? With the re-make movie, 《ドラえもん新・のび太の宇宙開拓史》(Shin・Nobita no Uchu Kaitakushi)[The New Record of Nobita: Spaceblazer], no doubt that with promises of better, higher quality graphic and sound. However, the storyline might be slightly different but I am sure most of the original content will remain. Just check out the two pictures of the Nobita's Spaceblazer and The New Record of Nobita: Spaceblazer respectively. You will be amazed by how much the quality of the graphic has improved throughout these years!

On a side note, I was disappointed to find that a local store did stock Doraemon The Magic 2007, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld ~ The Seven Magicians~, but it is in blu-ray disc format! I only have a VCD player at home and at most, I could only use my computer to watch DVDs but Blu-Ray disc are out of my range! I didn't ask the shop keeper if they have it in DVD/VCD format though. Let's hope that they do!

Gone (Novel)

I am so guilty. I should be studying but I still managed to convince myself to sneak out some time to read the novel which I had borrowed from the library.

The novel in question, is Gone, written by Michael Grant, published in June 24, 2008. The story is particularly interesting with an ending that promises a sequel. After reading the author's blog here, I realised that the sequel, currently named Sacrifice, will be out around June-July 2009. Plus, a character will die. Oh no. Who's the poor he or she who's going to die? I hope that it's one of the bad guys please. From what I see, it seemed that the person is one of the good guys. >.< Secondly, I have to wait for a year for the sequel?! I think that I would have forgotten the story by then. Looks like I have to borrow Gone again when Sacrifice is released to refresh my memory or buy Gone (which I am very tempted to).

Forgive me for blabbing on but the information along with the covers of the book are as below. Do try to read it. It's quite an interesting book. Seriously, I was forced to live in FAYZ(Fallout Alley Youth Zone), I don't think that I can survive without powers. Yes, I am pampered. However, looking at the young age of 14 years and below being forced to cope with this crisis....I suppose I will fight for my life when it is needed. Hi there everyone! How's everyone getting on? I hope that all are fine! Exams are near so let's all pull up our socks!

I haven't blogged for a while due to some problems with my computer as it was in some kind of Linux OS and I can't get logged on to internet...*coughbrothermessitcough* but now it's all well with a all new cool glossy black disc drive. I will take a picture of it and post it up next time. Thanks to my mother who paid a whooping $800 for it. But well, at least the guy had already installed programs such as Microsoft Office. Which means less time spent on getting the disc drive up and running!

I went to Westerblog as usual and found a post on a new science fiction novel, SKINNED, by Robin Wasserman. It seemed to be an interesting book so I decided to share with you guys what I had found.

The rumors of BoA planning to advance into the U.S market has been around for years. With the press conference"Best of Asia, Bring on America" held on 10th September in Seoul Paris Hotel, which will reveal the plan of BoA's advance into America, the rumors are now reality.

Teasers of BoA's U.S Debut Song MVs are released online. The new song, named 'Eat You Up' (don't ask me why it has such a weird name) has two MV, directed by Diane Martel and Cha Eun Taek respectively. I preferred the Korean version of the MV as it is more fun and in my opinion, more BoA's style. The U.S version of the MV seemed to be of a low budget production and not like BoA's style. The video below shows both the Korean and U.S version respectively.

I suppose most of the people who reads my blog is not able to understand Korean or Japanese, the video below is a part of the press conference with BoA speaking in English, talking about her song etc. I must say that her English is certainly more fluent than before though you could see that she is quite nervous with many 'yeah' in her conversation.

Midnighters Book 3: Blue Noon

Borders was having their Teachers&Students offer from 3Sep(Wed)-5Sep(Fri). This means that if you are either a student or teacher, you just have to show them your pass and you will be eligible for a 20% discount off their products. Borders Preferred Members would be able to get a further 10% discount too.

This offer was too hard to resist for me. Especially I had convinced my brother to lend me his gift card to buy books. I had went to Borders few days before wanting to check out those Midnighters books. Unfortunately, they were out of stock. Thus, I waited until yesterday, the last day of the promotion to go to Borders, hoping that the trilogy would be there, waiting for me to buy it.

When I arrive there, I noticed that indeed they had stocked up but not the series which I wanted. They had stocked up on UGLIES series with mostly UK UGLIES, PRETTIES, SPECIALS and EXTRAS paperback and also US SPECIALS paperback and EXTRAS hardcover.

There's was only one old cover of Blue Noon paperback and two new cover of Blue Noon paperback. I preferred the new cover version as it's more striking and cooler. That's mostly the reason why I had bought the new cover version instead of the old ones.

Although I was itching to open the book and plunge into the world of Midnighters, I was unable to do so as Blue Noon is the last book of the Midnighters trilogy. It would not do me any good learning about the ending when I didn't even have a clue of what was going on.

Guess that I had to sign on Kinokuniya's membership card and get the books after the big "O" Levels.

Actually, for those who knew what is Charmed, the ex producer of Charmed had actually approached Scott Westerfeld and expressed interest in producing a telelvision series for Midnighters. Scott Westerfeld however, was not particularly in favour about the storyline for Midnighters.

For those who didn't know, Midnighters is a science fiction trilogy created by Scott Westerfeld, the very same author of the UGLIES Series that I love.

How I wish that I have enough money to buy all the books I love.

Purple Dung

Dung or Feces or faeces or fæces. Whatever you like to call it, is a waste product given out by animals. Including us. Well, I had always thought that it was nothing special and perhaps a little gross. Brown or yellow in colour, hard or soft or squishy, I had seen it often enough to think nothing of it.

What about dung in purple colour? That caught my attention when I was about to flush the toilet bowl after doing my business. Not only the dung was in purple colour, the water surrounding the dung was in a deep purple colour as well. Of course, I don't have a picture of the purple dung to show you guys. I don't have that habit of bringing a camera into the toilet. It's unhygienic.

However, I do have a picture of what caused my dung to be in purple colour. That is, Pitaya.

Pitaya has tons of also known as names. I suppose even a spy wouldn't have that much. Would they? Besides knowing as Pitaya, it is also known as pitahaya, dragon fruit, huǒ lóng guǒ (火龍果/火龙果, "fire dragon fruit"), lóng zhū guǒ (龙珠果 "dragon pearl fruit"), strawberry pear, nanettikafruit, or thanh long. Told you that it is going to be a long list of names didn't I? I suppose that you would find one of the names familiar to you.

I had known that the purple coloured Dragon Fruit was not something to mess with if you do not want your expensive clothings to be ruin. It stains terribly, on tongues, clothes, hands, the list goes on. However, I didn't know that it tends to turn your dung into purple colour as well. I suppose now I know about this interesting fact.

In case you still don't know what Pitaya is, below is a picture of the purple coloured ones which I had taken.

Below: Hylocereus costaricensis or known as Costa Rica Pitaya. It is supposed to have red flesh but the colour looks like purple to me.

It seems that there's hope after all. There's a chance that I might get the perfect straight teeth I always want to own. I took the initiative to borrow books on braces when I went to the library today with my mother. The only book that was available was "Papa, I want braces". It was more of the book with some cartoon by the author. It might be mistaken as a picture book for those young children but the numbers of words inside is certainly more than those children is able to cope with.

After all that, I went to check up on how much money I have in my bank account. I still have $4800+. That should be enough right? Those money were my savings...I guess they can be counted as my own money right? I hope that $4800+ will be able to cover the whole braces treatment.

I had went to several dental clinics near my house, trying to find the least expensive with best services. It seems that I will go to the choosen clinic on 11 November, right after my very last paper for "O" Levels. Gosh! I suppose I wouldn't experience much pain on that day as the orthodontist will just take X-Ray and molds of my teeth...I think that I will need to extract several teeth as it's simply too crowded.

Oh GOSH!

I can't help thinking about it!

Will it hurt a lot?

I hope that the discomfort level will be at its minimum!

Or I will find that I have extremely high tolerance level!

I had found a picture of a patient with condition that was quite similar like mine.

All this while I had been reading news of Team Singapore being trashed by other countries.

Finally, the Table Tennis Team had managed to win the match against Korea. They are in the FINALS!!!

No matter they win or not against the match with their opponent this Sunday, they are going to be able to get a medal, either gold or silver. FINALLY. We are going to get a medal. Of course it would be better if it's Gold!!! ^0^

☆~♥Released of "O" Level Chinese Language Results♥~☆

This day had finally came. To think that I was still tossing and turning on my bed yesterday, unable to sleep. Was it due to me worrying about my results or because of the fact that it was too hot for me to fall asleep? That does not matter now. Not to me at least.

Today was a day filled with anxiety. Everyone was especially restless and were all wondering (or perhaps worrying?) about their "O" Level Mother Tongue which would be released at 1.40pm right after school. The lessons we went through without totally paying 100% attention to what the teachers were saying. The last lesson, which was supposed to be CDP, was the most horrible. Apparently, the teachers were instructed to stop all CDP lessons and allow any subject teachers to take over the one hour lesson instead. My CDP teacher was my Geography teacher. She kept going through the questions on a local examination paper. I was not paying attention to her. Instead, I was watching the clock. Watching as the seconds tick by. It was pure torture. I convinced myself that I would do well. I would get the results I want. Yet there is still a tiny part of my heart that questioned myself. Could I really do it? I only knew that I must.

The lesson finally ended. It was now the time for us to know our results. As the Malay students left for their Malay Language classroom, I watched the corridor, searching for my teacher. She was late for five minutes.

Finally she came. Walking in a hurried pace towards our classroom. As she gets nearer, the volume in our classroom rose. The anxiety and fear that was entwined in our voices was obvious.

"There's room for improvement (for our results)," When she was asked if she was satisfied with our results.

There were two person who had gotten an A2 and only one who had gotten an A1 for Chinese Language in our class. As she read out the name, silently, in my mind, I was praying that I would not hear my name. My mind was set for higher goals. An A1 for Chinese Language.

I let out the breath I was holding. My name was not among the two whom had gotten an A2. The volume in the classroom rose as I strained my ears to hear who was the one who had gotten the A1. I started to panic as I wondered what would happen if I was not the one who had gotten the A1. What if I had wished for something that was too much to accomplished by me? Then, I heard my name. I wondered if my mind was playing tricks on me. Had I really done it? Indrani congratulated me. Perhaps I did not hear wrongly after all.

Still unsure, I waited for my turn to take a look at the result slip and to sign on it. It was my turn. I stared at it while my teacher told me what was written on the paper. "A1 for "O" Level Chinese. Distinction for Oral and Listening Comprehension. "

It was there. Written in black and white.

I felt elated. I had achieved it. An A1 along with Distinction.

One more step closer to my dreams.

It's rare, me here in my blog almost all posts written in English but now, I am going to talk about a particular Chinese book in this post...so do pardon the Chinese!

I had borrowed this book from a Library outlet...I find that I am more attracted to books with manga like cover. It just makes me want to read it. =D So, I read through the whole book, constantly irritated with the bad printing such as having two pages of writing printed on the same page so I have to try to make out the words, some words which cannot be printed and are in replace, a square and also a lack of one whole page which was not ripped off! Apparently, the page was left out during printing and in replace, there was a blank page.

It was the blank page that made me search the internet for the page so that I would know what happened in the end. Although I knew that 史可乐 eventually ended up with 龙天佑 and that 龙天阳 is actually 史可乐's elder brother, I still do not like missing a page of the story. Maybe I will go to Kinokuniya and see if there's a opened book available and read the page I had missed or borrow another copy of the book. >.<. The story is cute and well, very dreamy. Some sort of a fairy tale that every girl wishes for it to turn into a reality...including me. \(^w^)/ Information of the book below...

Looking at my last post, I realised that I had not been posting for a long time. My computer was unable to connect to the internet and then it sort of hanged......luckily my brother managed to fixed it by reformatting the computer (AGAIN). All information I had is of course, gone, since I am so stupid to not make back ups. So to those who are waiting me to send pictures of Cosfest or some other things, please be patient as my computer is still not in tip top condition with no sound and sometimes blue or red screen.

I had just browsed through my favourite author's blog. Found a post that was dated 2 June 2008 (quite an old post) and read through it......and got really UBER EXCITED about IT! Why?!!! Because, Mr Scott Westerfeld, the author of the UGLIES Series, is going to write a book all about the UGLIES Series!!!! O.M.G!!!!! \O.O/ So you can imagine me jumping for joy *YESSSS!!!!* with my brain filled with thoughts of getting my hands on the book, Bogus to Bubbly: An Insider's Guide to the World of Uglies (Paperback), as soon as possible. The bad thing is that...this book is going to be released while I am having my Ordinary Level examination! Oh NO! What kind of bad timing is that???!!!! I wish that I can get it...but I am supposed to be studying at that time!! ARGHHH! Also, I am supposing to be saving up for Lolita as well. Jeez...while other are saving up for Lolita and Cosplay/Dollfies, I am saving up for Lolita and books. Aren't I a "hardworking student"? O.o But let's put that aside first. OH what in the world!!!! I had reached school at 7.25am today even though lessons starts at 11am. I was doing my S.S homework(only to find out that I had cross reference with the wrong source and had to re do it later that day. -_-^^^) . After that, I went to D&T room at around 8.15am. Cute, file, sand, buff till 10.30am. Went to classes after that. After lessons, I went to do my D&T again only stupid me mess up the stage and have to re do it! ARGGGHHHH! I had wasted my entire morning's work! I must finish my D&T by latest this Friday no matter what so that I can enjoy Cosfest!!!!

Into its 7th year running, Cosfest VII Super Henshin will definitely be the most exciting anime/cosplay convention in Singapore! Watch anime and manga fans dressed in their favourite character costumes compete at the Cosplay Competition.

We are also honored to host the regional Singapore Rounds of World Cosplay Summit. The winning pair will represent Singapore to compete with some of the world’s finest cosplayers in Nagoya, Japan.

On top of that, Anime Karaoke and Anime Voice Dubbing contests will be held to spice up the event. Also, visit the artist booths with their own works and comics and also the Cosplay Exhibition from Taiwan.

Come join in the fun during this 2 days event!

I can't believe how time flies!!! It's only 7 days more till Cosfest! It's going to be my first time going to such a big Cosplay event! I am so excited and I am seriously counting down to the day of Cosfest with each passing day. I am going to wear my only Lolita on only one day of the 2 day event. As for the other day, I will be wearing the usual Singapore street clothes. I must make a list of stuff to do or I might forget to bring something! Plus~, it's my first time wearing the Alice Bow Hairband which I had just bought for $8 from Neko with my Lolita!!!!!~~~~ =D

I am so envious of Elie who can buy a new Lolita! But then, it's Bodyline which is very notorious for it's bad quality. Plus, the shipping fees is so expensive! A Alice Bow which cost around SGD$12 will cost around SGD$52 with shipping fees! With this money, I might as well buy a BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT or other non-off brand products as it will cost around the same. =.=||

But first, I have to do well for my "O" Level Chinese Oral and finish my D&T Product!

P.S I am so glad that I had reminded Huang Wang of the hair accessories and bag which she needed to prepare as she had totally forgotten all about it. She said that she will go shopping for the stuff today. Let's hope that she will find all the things she need and be ready for Cosfest!!! =D

Black Alice is holding a movie screening of "Kamikaze Girls", and tickets are now for sale!

"Kamikaze Girls is the latest pop-culture phenomenon to take Japan by storm. It began as a best-selling novel, “Shimotsuma Story” (English Title, “Kamikaze Girls”), by cult writer Novala Takemoto, whose empathy with social outsiders and decadent fashion sense has helped cultivate a devoted following among young women, particularly those in the “Lolita” fashion scene.

Momoko (pop idol Kyoko Fukada, pictured above) yearns to live in 18-century Versailles than in her back-country hometown of Shimotsuma, heartland of the yakuza. To escape, she loses herself in the dreamy, doll-like fashions of the "Lolita” scene. Her idol is Akinori Isobe, chief designer of Baby, the Stars Shine Bright—her favorite Lolita design house. She travels all the way to Tokyo to shop at their store."

This is probably going to be the biggest event gathering of Lolitas, and we hope to have your support for this event! You are recommended to dress in Loli as we will take pictures. This event is something not too be missed!

The event is open to everyone, not just limited to Lolitas, and tickets are available for sale at Black Alice. You may choose your seats, based on a first-come-first-served basis.

We will suggest getting the tickets together with your friends, so that you can choose your seats and seat together. Ticket collection will be in 2nd-3rd week of June, and you'll be notified via our mailing list, Sgcafe and our blog.

P.S. This is a non-profit event; ticket fees are purely used to pay rental of the cinema hall. Any surplus will be given to Red Cross (SG) & The Salvation Army (SG).

Judging from the outside, you will never guessed that we actually have to wear so many things to get the pretty effect which many sought for!

Next coming up is my Pannier! What is a pannier? It is something you wear under the dress to make the dress puffy and blown up so that it looks really sweet and cute! It is just like a skirt but with special texture to make it puffy!

Next coming up is my shoes! As true blue Lolita shoes are expensive (normally around $70 and above) and not to mention possibly uncomfortable for the height is around 5cm or above. The height of the heel can even reach more than 10cm. Imagine walking around with heels that high! So I just went to buy a pair of Mitju Ballet Flats to match with my Lolita as they are suitable and signals child innocence as well!

I took the 'O' Level Chinese today...it was not as hard as expected.

I went to meet my mum after that. We have Macdonald for lunch. ^.^I went to SportsLink to find the dumbbells and the mat which me and my mum wanted respectively. However, the dumbbells which were for women had only the weight 0.9kg and 6kg per pair. 0.9kg is way too light while the 6kg is way too heavy. I found out from the staff that they don't have any in between weight...hello?! I only want to be stronger not to become a muscular woman!!!

My mother and I.....thinking of exercising together?!

That's right! My mum is thinking of exercising to get rid of those fats around her tummy (and also to just keep fit)....so far she had tried sit ups and by not using the lift when getting home. But....she doesn't use a mat when doing the sit ups so her backbone hurts like hell. Also, one can only climb up stairs when going home that many times a day...I don't know if it's really useful....

Actually, I have been thinking about exercising too. Seventeen always managed to feature one set of workout in each issue but sometimes there's a need of some equipments such as Dumbbells which is something I do not have....also, I do get lazy sometimes and thus I will stop during the exercises. >.<

I am seriously considering of getting dumbbells and the exercise mat....but what weight do I get? I think maybe around 2kg+? I know that's very little but I am really weak.....

My mum is thinking of getting a pair of sports shoe so that she can run in the park as a way of exercising...it's been a long time since she had last ran though....I am thinking of seriously joining her in the running and also getting the things I want.

I think that this is coming true....

A healthier and fitter me!!!
